hair loss could be low iron, iron over load, underactive Thyroid hormone, low vitamin D,levels. it is possible that her spotting could be gynecological meaning a uterine problem but one can spot now and thrn in menopause with hormone fluctuation. she should see her primary care physician and her obgyn if she continue to spot.
It sounds like since your mother is going through menopause that the two biggest answers would be a thyroid issue or another hormone imbalance. Hormones and your thyroid both effect your period and the hair loss is also a sign of both menopause and thyroid issues. My mother is going through menopause and has noticed that she is losing hair from her arms, legs, and pubic area. The doctor said thats normal for menopausal women but if your mother has other more severe symptoms I would go to the Dr. just to be on the safe side.
thyroid problems could be the main cause of it..i have been doing tons of research since i have thyroid and have found spotting and losing hair.but, menopause i have heard can do this as well
