Can a torn muscle or ligament cause problems later in life?

I had an injury in my abdominal area under the rib in which It felt like the area underneath it was poked. I was thinking muscles or ligaments or possibly organs were hurt. It felt like liquid was seeping from it internally. The whole abdominal/pelvic area hurt. I had a CT of abdomen and pelvis which came back normal. Ultrasound of abdomen was normal as well. But I'm afraid those tests just show organs, not muscle/ligament or tissue damage. If those types of things were damaged and not repaired, could it damage cells and ultimately result in cancer. I'm worried about that because those areas still bother me even those the tests came back normal so there has been no treatment.

Hello~I would ask your doctor about an MRI, I don't think that muscle damage can cause cancer, but, they do not heal too well either. An MRI should show more than a CT scan.
