Long term back injury. Need to weigh options.

For 7 years I have slowly had to move to higher and higher pain pills to... Well live.. Work. Take care of my kids. Even doing my best to keep my tolerance lower bearing the pain till I had to move up.
Prior to being on pain medication I took horrid doses of tylonol to get out of bed that created bad issues in it self but I had no choice I was shook off by my family doctor and an ortho place because the degeneration in my spine couldn't possible create that much pain....... THIS is how people are treated. It went from the age of we should help people in pain to suffer the lot of you we don't want you to get addicted... One year it's one way next it's another.... Finally I found a doctor willing to believe me... I cried. I'd gotten to the point I had to have a pain pill prior to his visit for months I'd do anything I could to get pain pills... Taking half of a 5 mg Vicodin just to take the edge off. The problem with all the people that don't have severe back pain is they don't even begin to comprehend the mental and physical strain and the felling that you'd possible be better off in heaven or hell. The disgust I feel for all of those who ignored my pain I would pray your struck with such pain then have NO one believe you for years... But I DO know how it feels and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy...
So the reasons for my pain are genetics and car crash likely accelerated it. Diagnosis is spinal Stenosis,  foraminal narrowing, bulge/herniation my jam has come out of my donut, Facet disease, degenerative disc disease... I got one epidural so far. Helped a bit for a week or so then back to normal. Have second one coming up.
My largest concern is the implant she is currently talking about which has wire leads and a battery pack in your butt cheak. Had a teacher in refrigeration HVAC school... He'd bump his butt off a chair or desk and get railed my a spike in power. If anyone can help I know every case is different. I'd just like to know my options and what's best... This doc I see had just gotten back from a seminar on these implants....  Prior to that she didn't mention it only other tests and possibilities... Was told by Lazer Spine institute that I was a good candidate for their surgery methods. Unfortunately my Medicare doesn't cover it and I'm 23,000 short to pay myself... Just when I thought I had found a good place the people I talked to CARED I couldn't believe it.... I was just so used to they exact opposite, I broke down and just sobbed like a small child... Any advice is welcome.

Hello,

Have you seen a chiropractor? I have several herniated discs and facet syndrome as well.  When I was living in the states, I saw a good one and he did disc decompression on me and cold laser treatments as well, they sure did help. I also saw a Naturopath, she did acupuncture treatments which helped as well. I sure wish I was back there now, I have not felt good since moving here, 3 years ago, I will be glad to get back. I would sure give it a try, you could be pleasantly surprised.

It sounds really painful I have a L5 prolapse where the disk is off to the left so I know the feeling you have it sounds like you need to see a different specialist and maybe they now have a new treatment for you but id get on a plane to the United Kingdom and see a specialist there as the NHS in uk would be able to send you to a specialist who is in pain management and maybe even could get surgery on it
