Is this chest wall pain?

On my left side, under my breast bone & down a bit I have this dull achy like pain that comes & goes.I have a constant feeling like something is being held under my ribs on the left side. When laying on my left side the pain feels worse but if I role over to my other side the pain lessons.I can feel this walking, bending basically any time.Right now I do not have the dull pain but the held feeling.Maybe restiction? not sure how to explain it.I have taken ibuproven & it's not working.Family Doctor thought it was chest wall pain.I'm not to sure.I also get a stiff neck sometimes & under my shoulder blade a pinch like.I am currently nursing my baby.Could I have pulled my chest wall muscles? Lossing sleep as it bothers me.I find it worse at night. Also find the using my left arm feels strained. No injuries.Anyone feel the same...sorry I'm not good at explaining myself.

Hello~I can understand your concern, anytime we have pain in the chest area it causes us to worry.

It appears to me that you either have costochondritits (inflammation and pain in the ribs) and/or misplaced vertebrae in the spine and rib cage. I have this problem often, and I see a chiropractor for this condition, it really does help. It does not sound like a cardiac issue, but, if it gets worse and you get other symptoms, I would see another doc. In the meantime, see a good chiropractor and tell him what is going on, I bet he/she will be able to help the pain and you will feel lots better.

Good luck
Susie
