stool impaction

What stool cleanser is available for sigmoid impaction have had impaction for 10 days? ER doc said to go home it will eventually come down.I should never have left ER without cleansing. I am on a high fiber diet since last year drink lots of water.  Afraid to have solids don't want more impaction and another visit to ER they did a FLEETS at the time with  no results.

Stool impactoon is one of those things that seem silly to talk about. The problem may be easily resolved, but an impaction may result in the necessity of a bowel transection and temporary colostomy. The problem is"one of those things" that I believe having a physician auscultate the bowel and perform a hands-on examination with a good patient history is worthwhile. Especially for those of us who are a little older. And if the impaction lasts more than five days. Often there is a sensitivity to certain foods that don't transit well, especially cheese. Fibre can actually cause an impaction if too much is taken in without adequate fluid.

thank you for your reply have been on Miralax for 6 days cannot take Dulcolax
contains phosphate have kidney disease. Have appointment with GI DR today.

If you have an impaction you need to be under the supervision and take the advice of a physician. In severe cases patient's should be hospitalized.

Try Miralax its good. Duloclax is also good
