Girl with sudden onset of inconstinance during daytime

Hi,

I am new to this forum and am trying to find out more information regarding my daughter's symptoms.

She is 11 years old. She has Autism and other diagnosis's. She has had on onset of wetting accidents that started about a month ago.

In the past we haven't had problems in this area. Tonight she had one while sitting in a chair laughing. A couple nights ago it also happened. She has even happen twice within 30 minutes the same day. This is now happening about every other day.

As it is she has little control and frequently runs to the bathroom. She has no pain with this or warning.

We had her see her doctor and the urine analysis came back normal. We have been given a prescription for a medication to contract the bladder.

My question is if this is seen very common among girls her age. What might be causes we might need to look into for this problem. While this need to be an area for a specialist to look into for children. What might we do to help reduce the accidents.

We are now going to start having her go to the bathroom every hour. She has only had this happen once during her sleep. It seems to happen most often when she is excited, sneezes, coughs, laughs, and sitting down. They happen primarily in the afternoon and evening.

She also has a deletion of a copy of the gene for Juvenile Kidney Disease. This is also a concern. She would only have problems if the other copy was damaged in some way.

What are the early symptoms of this disorder?

Thanks

Diana

I agree, take her to a urologist and find out what is going on. When this happens, does she have a burning sensation? If so, this could be the sign of a kidney infection.

I am not familiar with this type of disorder, that would definitely be something to ask the doctor.

I would recommend taking her to a Urologist to start with to find out what's going on. This is not a common thing in girls her age. I really don't know much about the kidney disorder so I can't really help you with that, sorry.  Remar
