what are the common causes of blood-tinged spit?

I'm a 23-year-old male, i have this problem for about 2 months. almost every morning after i woke up my spit is yellow in color, and everytime i proceed to brushing my teeth and tongue, there is blood in my spit but i dont know where does it came from, i checked all sides of my mouth with a cotton everytime after i brush to find the source of the bleeding but i couldnt find it. it doesnt happen everytime but it's quite often. my tongue looks normal and my gum looks clean. i dont know if this has something to do with the blood, but i've been feeling very tired everytime i woke up and during the day, but that could be the effect of staying up late at night. i used to be a smoker but i stopped cold turkey 3-4 months ago and i'm not a drinker, but i drink once a 2 month when i go out with friends. i want to go to the doctor but i'm afraid it's not necessary. i didnt notice any other symptomps because i feel perfectly fine otherwise. could you please give me a suggestion about what i might have? thanks!

Hello~First, congratulations on quitting smoking.
As to the blood, I would say it is your gums, since you say it is after your brush. You probably have a build-up of tartar and this will certainly cause the gums to bleed when brushing your teeth. I would make an appointment with your dentist and have your teeth thoroughly cleaned and x-rayed, this should stop the bleeding.
