Gave oral sex in January

For a year leading up to January o had given unprotected oral sex to dozens of men ibhopked up with via craigslist, not knowing their status, and it's all been a huge regret. I got tested for the first time Jan 28 with a lab test, followed by a negative lab test on March 28, a 3rd gen. On May 13, I tested negative on a 4th gen ag/ab test ( I understand the antigen portion is moot after a month but this is the only test available) by quest diagnostics. Since then, I've tested negative on about 5 rapid finger prick tests (unigold and oraquick advance) at clinics. My gp doc wants me to test again at 6 months. I was also recently diagnosed with Lyme disease. Could this be considered an immunodeficiency problem that could delay seroconversion? I understand oral is low risk but there have been instances of transmission this way according to sites. Cdc hotline still recommends 6 month testing. what are th e odds that I can turn pos at 6 months?

This thread is closed. If you had needed testing, all antibody tests are conclusive at 3 months, if not sooner.

Going through the window period gets us stuck on the obsession that we are hiv infected.

Google has old info and conflicting info.

You are so focused on the "wrong" thing now.

28 days a 4th gen test is conclusive.
Any antibody test done at 3 months IS conclusive.
CDC window period IS 3 months.
The clearview stat pack 3rd gen rapid test DOCs state if you have not put yourself at risk a 3 month negative result IS conclusive.

Focus on all the "IS" in the above paragraph.
You have every reason to pump your fist in the air , smile and say, "I am NEGATIVE.

Stop punishing yourself, you are HIV free.

Really? At 4 weeks? I still feel compelled to test out to 6 months. I don't know why this is wrecking me so much. I don't wanna have to wait out another lab test, so hopefully I can find solace in that. Last rapid.

Your tests were good at the 4 week mark. Use condoms always even for oral.

You would know because you would have a condition that would've been indentified when you were young

Okay. It's just tough to figure out what is meant by a badly damaged immune system. is it specific?

The only thing that would make a difference in testing is a badly damaged immune system

Would antibiotics for Lyme or a hep b vaccine shot affect hiv testing

Because I'm a nut case, I'm gonna get another rapid in a few days at around 24 weeks. would that be considered 6 months?

One more anxiety fueled question for the road. I had the 4th gen lab test after 3 months. I know the antigen portion of the test is undetectable after a month or so, so was it still reliable? Could the ab portion ever be undetectable at 3 months?

Youre right, James, I do. I contemplated having my blood sent to the lab and the doctor at the urgent care clinic said it wouldn't be necessary. I gotta move on.

I would seek help from a mental health professional.

Yesterday went and got a rapid test again, negative of course. This is about 23 weeks post exposure. Why can't I accept that I'm negative?

Haha yeah it's ridiculous. You can even hear them looking stuff up online and reading right from it. You'd think the cdc phones would be managed by well informed people. Regular state helplines are far more helpful and give up to date info. Thanks Vance.
