HIV 2 window

Hello, I had a risky contact with a csw in Africa.  After 2 weeks I got shingles.  After 67 days (approx. 10 weeks) I had myself tested in the laboratory with the Duo HIV Test.  The test was negative.  I am afraid of HIV 2. is the test safe against HIV2?  is it true that antibody formation in HIV 2 takes longer?  longer than 10 weeks?  should I get tested again after 12 weeks?  thanks

Shingles has nothing to do with HIV.  What happened during this risky encounter? What sexual activity took place?

BJ without condom and i fingerd her and i had cuts on my fingers.
I’m 31 years old. And Shingles are unusual for my age
How long it takes for building antibodies against HIV2?
Your situation involves personal contact with an object in air  (cut hand, clothes,  fluids, mouth, maybe blood,  etc. ). You will be happy to learn that you had no risk, because you can't get hiv from personal contact except unprotected penetrating vaginal or anal with a penis, neither of which you did and you didn't share hollow needles to inject with which is the only other way to acquire hiv - there are ONLY 3 ways to get hiv. Note that 2 of them require a penis and the third requires a hollow injecting shared needle - there are no OTHER ways to get hiv. Analysis of large numbers of infected people over the 40 years of hiv history has proven that people don't get hiv in the way you are worried is a risk.
Hiv is a fragile virus in air or saliva and is effectively instantly dead in either air or saliva so the WORST that could happen is dead virus rubbed you, and obviously anything which is dead cannot live again so you are good. Blood and cuts would not be relevant in your situation since the hiv has become effectively dead, so you don't have to worry about them to be sure that you are safe.
There is no reason for a person to test when they are safe. The advice took into consideration that the other person might be positive, so move on and enjoy life instead of thinking about this non-event. hiv prevention is straightforward since there are only 3 ways you can become infected, so next time you wonder if you had a risk, ask yourself this QUESTION. "Did I do any of the 3?" Then after you say "No, I didn't" you will know that it's time to move on back to your happy life.
No one got hiv from what you did during 40 years of hiv history and no one will get it in the next 40 years of your life either.  You can do what you did any time and be safe from hiv.
The other person's status is irrelevant when you have no exposure to live virus.
in your case you will never develop hiv antibodies since you never had a risk.
By the way, disease does not follow a schedule so there is no way to identify the day a person will get shingles. Even if it is a low probability that you get a particular disease condition, that doesn't prove that it has anything to do with another disease.
Thank you for your detailed reply.  My injured fingers were in her vagina.  hence the risk.  I just want to know if the 4th generation test is safe for HIV 2 at 10 weeks
Since you didn't answer the QUESTION I'll do it for you. Answer> No there wasn't a penis in my anus when I fingered her and she didn't inject me with a hollow needle while I did it so I had zero risk and should move on instead of skipping over the advice because that is causing me to ask questions that have no purpose.
Your previous response about the cut fingers was very clear, so my advice took that into consideration.
ok so i had no risk.  that's reassuring.  thanks.  nevertheless it would be helpful for many if we clear up this dilemma regarding test window for hiv 2.  is the test window for hiv 2 actually longer or is that a myth. Thank you
It really doesn't need to be cleared up. No risk means no need to test/ask about testing. A duo test at 28 days is considered conclusive for hiv, 1 and 2.
There is no dilemma to clear up when you have zero risk, other than finding a way to move on back to your happy life and stop fixating on hiv.
