Vaseline and HIV ?

I have a general query here. I know that using vaseline with a latex condom is not a good idea. I will not do that again. But, because I did that the last time, I want to know something here. Read on the internet that HIV is highly susceptible to temperature and pH changes. So would not the HIV viruses along the receptive partner's rectum have been rendered intransmissible once they came into contact with the vaseline moisturizer ? And then even if the condom breaks, does that mean that the viruses would have been terribly affected already by the lube ?
