HOW DO I KNOW IF THE CONDOM WAS EFFECTIVE IN PROTECTING ME?

I recently engaged in anal sex being the receptive partner.  How would I know if the latex condom I used was effective in protecting me from HIV?

In other words ... " when is a condom NOT effective"?

the condom did it's job and contained the semen, so it protected you.

Btw:    I filled the condom with  water that next morning... It did not leak. Does that mean it was effective in protecting me?
