There has never been anyone who has been documented to have acquired HIV from oral sex or kissing. As explained, the enzymes in saliva inactivate the virus. The CDC is conservative in what they have on their website but again, no one has ever gotten HIV in this manner and you won't be the first. Your question has been answered fully by our members that you did not have a risk for this so we are now closing this thread. We wish you the best of health.

Could someone say why cdc says that kissing is a risk uf blood is present ? I have a sore throat after 6 days of the xposure. Could it be ars ? Plz help
Honestly i am really scared..could somone tellme how i xn protect myself....i never do anal or oral sex. Is there any thing else that
thank no more anxious...but then why does the CDC say that kissing is low risk. CDC says that blood can increase hiv risk. and that there has been one case that occured thru kissing a few yrs back. Kindly help,. Thanks
Also my gums bleed a biy while brushing in the morning. I kissed him 2 hours after i brushed. What kind of activities will and will not put me at risk considering im a gay man and part of a high risk group
Thanks RubyWitch , however i read that cdc says that it is a low risk exposure . I hv a sore throat 7 days post that exposure. Has kissing ever led to hiv ? All my exposures till date involved only kissing and handjobs. I have never had anal or oral sex and i have tested negative in nov last yr.
You never had a risk for HIV even if there was a small amount of blood. Human saliva contains enzymes and bacteria which renders the virus inactive. (Unable to infect)
You do NOT need to test and you have NO need to go on PEP.
This is NOT how HIV is transmitted. Please relax.
