Dear All,

i have a movable lump at the left side of my neck area like below my tonsils area. I tested HIV negative with oraquick after waiting out the 3 months window period. What could be the cause then?

You didn't have a risk of contracting HIV. If you have a concern about a lump see your doctor you cannot be diagnosed over the Internet.

First of all...the only exposures described here were oral sex....which are NOT risk factors.  No testing was even needed.

A conclusive result is 3 months post exposure....that's all you need to know.

Well I pray all is good with me as well as you man. My GF left me and I got lonely as **** so one night = 3 months of worry. No more sex for me the drama after you bone a chick or go down on her is not worth it. Im just gonna stick with Hand-gela till my *** get married lol.

Your test result was conclusive, you do not have an HIV concern, therefore this thread needs to end.

nope. i didn't have any symptoms. But ya symptoms are not indicative. Its better to get tested no matter what. i did oraquick with saliva.

Already got tested at 6 weeks was negative with rapid oraquick blood test so that gave me peace of mind 2 more weeks and I can get a conclusive result. But yea God bless you hope its nothing serious and did you have any other symptoms during the 3 month wait?

Just like what Zedicus said. get tested after 3 month window period. I recommend anonymous testing. :) Mine could also be due to smoking. (more reasons for me to quit) I'm quite a heavy smoker. a pack of 20 cigs last me for about 1.5 to 2 days..if i'm lucky. If I'm socialising..easily could finish a pack in a day.  good luck mate.

Yup the same way mine is i use two finders to find it then I kinda scoop it out and move it around its about the size of a nickle and feels hard and round but its non visible thro the skin. My exposure was Oral sex.

people dont try to look for symptoms.. u will most definitely find some kind of symptom and this will make you worry like hell

i am sure teak and lizzie told you that you had no risk?.. anxiety is a ***** i know but you need to get past this.. you didnt have any risk.. if you are tht worried.. get urself tested so u wont feel this bad..

yup but my last exposure was oral sex and intercourse occured 4 months ago around mid-July. and i tested negative with approved Oraquick about a week ago. I've remained sex-free (don't know what other terms to use) since then and intend to do so till marriage. :) I just happen to feel it in my neck when i was checking for HIV symptoms which one is swollen lymph nodes. However i think i got this lump even before i lost my virginity. I mean how often do you feel ur neck. I really need to like press my fingers in to press it and move it around. Its not visually obvious. Is urs similar?

I have the same exact thing I can feel for it and move it around. Check your left tonsil to see if its swollen. What was your exposure Oral sex?

hmm it is most definitely not a hiv symptom.. but get a doctor check up on it for a different reason.. ur 3 month test shows ur negative to hiv.. so dont panick about tht.. just get a doctor to chck up on it..

the thing is i'm not sure is mine is lymph node. Its more of a lump. its not painful. its only that one lump i'm having.

lymphoma is when two or more lymph nodes are swollen... and ARS donot have only 1 symptom.. they usually come with many other symptoms... the main thing is.. symptoms cannot be used to diagnose hiv because these symptoms are common for many other illnesses!
