like a previous poster I was foolish

I wont get into the was it stupid or not. Clearly it was stupid and risky. I have had unprotected anal sex with three men in the last 3 months. They r complete strangers so i know nothing of their backgrounds. In all three instances I was the bottom so to speak. The last encounter was 31 days ago. Three weeks ago I developed flu like symptoms with mild fever and soreness. Since then I have a lingering cough and fatigue. I thought it was jsut the flu. The fatigue thing on its own didnt concern me because i have had periodic bouts of physical fatigue all of my life long b4 i engaged in risky sex and this feels like the fatigue I have always dealt with. No swollen nodes as far as i can tell..no rash but of course everyone is different. My question is simple. It has been just at one month since the last time i had sex of any kind. Is it too early to test and if not what tests should i request? Where do i go for such tests? Are they expensive or does health insurance cover these things? I would like to be tested for everything that I should be tested for so what would that be?

Thank you so much.

3 months post your last unprotected anal sex will be when you can receive your conclusive test result.

Contact your city or county health department.  They can give you information on local testing options.  http://www.hivtest.org/ is a good place to start.

HIV test results are conclusive after 3 months.  Some people show antibodies as early as 2 weeks, but some can take up to 3 months.  A test after 6 weeks is almost completely sure.

Use condoms from now on.  They are absolutely effective when used correctly (that means use lots of lubricant too to prevent ripping!).
