Possibility of HIV contraction in China?

I am a 24 year old American female working in Guangdong, China. Recently I’ve made some highly questionable/bad decisions... I’ve had unprotected sex with 5 Chinese males over the course of the last six months, and some of these numerous times each. In all but three of these instances, the pull out method was used. Otherwise, the men had ejaculated inside of me.

I’m not pregnant, but I was quite ill with a throat infection/fever a few weeks back, and had a blood screening done and received antibiotics. Aside from that, I generally feel ok. I just got tested for HIV yesterday to calm some nerves but won’t receive the results for 10 days...

I guess I just want to know what my odds are at contracting HIV in China. How common is it for people to show symptoms early on? When I had a blood screening done, my white blood cell count was high, but then went down once I was on antibiotics. I know that data is not super reliable here, but I guess I’m fishing for some peace of mind even though I made stupid decisions.

I second CurfewX. You need to test to know. The earliest you can get one is at 28 days from the day of your last exposure with a IV Generation HIV (DUO) test. Alternatively, any standard antibody test at 6 week.

We wish you good luck.

Infection rates for unprotected vaginal sex with an HIV+ person are estimated at 1 in 2500 events.  Pretty low odds, particularly considering that you did not have sex with anyone who you're certain has HIV.

Nothing more we can add.  You'll have to wait for your test results.  No one here will comment on symptoms, because almost every person who comes in here, even those without a risk, claim to have symptoms.  Symptoms for HIV are also not specific to HIV, so there's no real point in discussing them.
