Rashes

Originally posted in the STD forum; wasn't sure where to post it because of both HIV and syphilis concerns.

Hi, I had an unprotected encounter with another male. I was the "top" in what I think (hope) was just some penis-to-anus frottage. This was about 8 weeks ago.

Since that time I have had some odd rashes. They come and go without rhyme or reason. They are mainly on my forearms (primarily on my left arm). They also appear on my wrist. They are hard to explain. Sometimes they are little red bumps. Sometimes they appear to be in a little bit of a circle. Other times I look at my forearm and it appears to have a tan rash, sometimes it's red, sometimes it appears to have circular lines.

UPDATE: I now have a very nasty looking bright red rash toward my right elbow. I also see some small red dots. I am very concerned that this is a maculopapular rash.

I also sometimes have rashes on my knees, or slightly above them. These are typically very red and have red raised bumps.

I have not had any other symptoms, though I realize that symptoms don't really mean much. I have "thought" I've had a million symptoms, but they are usually rationalized.

Is this HIV/ARS? The rashes have probably been going on and off for 4-5 weeks now. Is it syphilis? I know that rashes are prominent in second stage syphilis.

Any tips, suggestions, or advice you can share would be appreciated.

You never had a risk and your test results will prove that.  Once you get your negative result, put this behind you and move on.

Seek a therapist for your anxiety issues. Coming on here and looking online is not healthy, it's feeding your anxiety.

Three and a half hours. Very bright red rash on right wrist.  Dissipating after thirty minutes or so.  Absolutely horrified.  Not doing well.  People have told me nothing I experienced is indicative of HIV. Also have heard same regarding syphilis.  Definitely expecting bad results.  Life changing.  Think I  going to throw up. Ugh

Symptom means nothing in terms of HIV, but as Teak said you know if you penitrate someone.

At this point I am hoping for a syphilis diagnosis. I could handle that better than HIV at this time. I am truly an idiot

Well this isn't good. Last night I noticed an enlarged lymph node under my armpit. Pretty much makes me not confident in my tests later

You would know had you penetrated him.

Thank you, Teak. Unfortunately, I'm one of those ridiculous ones who honestly can't tell you if it was penetrative or not. I don't think I penetrated him, but maybe I did in the heat of the moment.I've never penetrated a man and have only penetrated one woman (vaginal), so I'm not sure if I know what it feels like.

Many, many lessons to be learned from this experience. Or, maybe more accurately, just one: Protection.

Unless you had unprotected PENETRATIVE anal sex then you were never at risk of contracting HIV and you don't need an HIV test.

I'm over 8 weeks now, which based on everything I've read (and I've read a lot, a lot, a lot these past 8 weeks), should give me a pretty accurate result. I'll get retested again at 3 months and probably 6 months, too (hopefully to confirm negative results).

I feel you, lastchance. I have already decided to straighten up and be a better person. I just hope I am able to have that opportunity as a STD-free individual. One mistake can 100% cost you. I have learned that lesson. Prayers to you.

mate I believe teak and others will tell u it's of no concern.

I know how weird it is. because I have similar red spots that don't itch that sometimes appear on my arms. they are usuAlly 1 or  2.

are they heat rash? I don't know. it's so cold in the UK. I hope it's not anything serious.
