Risk of HIV infection.

Hello, two weeks ago, in a health campaign, they were carrying out rapid tests for the detection of HIV. My turn was after a young man to test me, however the practitioners had trouble drawing blood from my finger using retractable lancets, so one of them decided to take a traditional lancet and prick my finger to draw the blood. I was not able to see where he got the lancet or if it was new. They pricked my finger and took the blood for the test, the result was negative.

My question is, if that lancet had been used on someone who was HIV positive, how likely is it that I got infected with HIV from that used lancet?

No, you cannot get HIV from a lancet.  The only puncture risk for HIV involves a hollow-bore needle with a syringe attached - the kind that is used for injections.

DO NOT re-use medical supplies like lancets, though.  You may run a risk for bacterial infections or Hepatitis B.
