I mentioned in a previous post that i took an oraquick test 3 months into my current relationship and it came back negative. That same day i had a pap smear and of course had an abnormal result because i was contacted by the dr and told to make an appt. I have read that pap smears can detect abnormalties in the cervix from HIV, HPV or herpes. Since i never went back i really do not know what reason was i called for, but all i would like to know is if the oraquick (using oral fluid) could have been wrong and i have been infected with hiv all along?? I tested recently with the oraquick and it came back positive. I am just wondering what could trigger a false negative test?

He said he was tested before we got together, and he also donates blood. Tomorrow i get my results and i am scared out of my mind that i have HIV. So if my HIV oraquick came back negative at that point i should take that as a conclusive negative??

PAP smears will not tell you if you have HIV or not. Only an HIV test will tell you if you have contracted HIV. You have a conclusive negative. Had your partner been tested for HIV and STDs before you had unprotected sex?
