Worried Sick, Please Help

Hi everyone.

I've recently become extremely concerned that I might have contracted HIV from a partner eight months ago. We had been dating for a short amount of time before we engaged in unprotected oral sex and unprotected vaginal sex. He ejaculated both times and shortly after, he disappeared on me. In about a week, I developed multiple concerning symptoms: a severe urinary tract infection, painful bumps between my vagina and rectum, vaginal discharge, and flu-like symptoms (fever, fatigue, muscle aches, etc). I immediately went to the doctor and was prescribed medicine to treat my UTI. My doctor also tested me for siphyllis and chlamydia, both of which came back negative. She did not notice the bumps and didn't seem concerned. (Due to my concern regarding contracting herpes, I later tested for HSV-2 after the three month window and tested negative. I am still convinced that I have genital HSV-1.)

Months later, I began to date someone else seriously. Since my doctor seemed sure that I was STD-free, we had unprotected sex on multiple accounts (approx. 5-10 times). Shortly after the first time we had intercourse (about a few days to a week), my partner also developed flu-like symptoms but nothing else. We have been using a condom in recent months, but we have both experienced vague and potentially HIV-related symptoms such as:

-Dry mucus membranes (mouth/eyes/nose)
-Ear infection
-Rash in genital region (only for him)
-Occasional nightly sweats (though we both sweat a lot in general...)
-Fatigue
-Bronchitis
-Flu
-Pink eye
-Weight gain (as opposed to weight loss)

I've been extremely concerned about this lately. It seems that all of these symptoms could be related to other things (allergies, flu season, stress, etc.), so I don't want to jump to any conclusions. How likely is it to contract HIV from male to female through unprotected vaginal intercourse once? And how likely is it to contract HIV from female to male through unprotected vaginal intercourse ten times? I've been in denial about this being a real problem, but I need all the help I can get right now. I'm too scared to get tested (though I know I should and I probably will in the near future).

Thanks for any help and I anxiously await your answers.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I was trying to avoid getting tested, but realize I just need to bite the bullet and get it done. I plan on getting tested in the coming week.

It is much easier for a female to contract HIV from a male than it is for a male to contract HIV from a female.
Sometimes multiple acts of unprotected sex are needed to transmit the virus, sometimes it is only one.
You have had unprotected intercourse and you need to be tested regardless of symptoms. Symptoms do not diagnose HIV.
Go get a rapid test done now and you will know in 20 minutes.

The only way you are going to know your status is by testing. Symptoms or the lack there of will not tell you if you are infected or not.
