diarrhea and early HIV - seeking clarification

diarrhea and early HIV - seeking clarification

Hi, I have read widely and there seems to be a lack of clarity over diarrhea and early stage HIV. I had sore throat from 2 weeks, -ve test at 3 weeks, diarrhea from 4 weeks. I am now at 5 weeks, diarrhea and sore throat continue. I also have frequent stomach pain and in the last 2 days occasional pain in my kidneys, but no fever, no other symptoms. I read that if symptoms occur, there is almost always a fever. And these symptoms occur between weeks 2-4, so diarrhea starting after wk4 is very unlikely to be HIV. But I read completely different things in different places, the internet has so many sites about HIV!! I know nobody can say anything definite about my case, only my next test will do that, but if I could safely say the diarrhea and sore throat do not change my risk level, this would ease my anxiety a little (because initially I thought my risk was very low, its only the symptoms which are stressing me).

What was your risk?

unprotected vaginal sex one time, but lasting some time (not sure how long) with someone I had known a couple of months, and learned to trust. I trusted partly because she always breastfed her child, and I thought someone +ve would not do this, and partly because over 2 months she seemed to always be very honest. but the truth is i have no idea what her status was. I was stupid. she claimed to be -ve, but she would, wouldn't she, if she admitted to being knowingly positive, she would be admitting to deliberately trying to infect.

But to be honest I am just seeking clarity on the diarrhea question, I know nobody can say one way or the other. If I had no symptoms at all I might still be +ve from this encounter.

Get tested 3 months post last exposure. Meanwhile, always wear condom with a non-permanent partner.

Unless you've been settled with her and know her sexual pattern, don't trust her actual status, not even after a negative result because she could still contract HIV AFTER the test and pass it to you. You wouldn't like it, would you?

Do you know the answer to my question? Or where it might be possible to find authorative information?
Of course i will test again at 3 months, but unfortunately that is still 7 weeks away so does not help me now.
I thought this girl was going to be my new permanent partner, until I had reason to doubt she was being truthful with me, at which point I ended the relationship. Fortunately we only made love one time, but unfortunately we did make love this one time. Can't undo it.

This comes as an advice rather than order. Just for your security, wear condom until you know the exact HIV status of each other. That way you both are safe from HIV risk from each other. Once you trust each other, you can have it free flow between you both.

Is there anyone else who can answer my question?

Your test will be conclusive 3 months post exposure.
