Well, the recommendations from the CDC are:
1. 2-8 weeks after exposure most people will come up positive. However, due to some false negatives and also some people have a delay in producing antibodies so you should get tested at 3 months which it looks like you did. At 3 months 97% of people would have produced antibodies. But rarely, can become positive after 6 months. So, I would get retested because you have symptoms and even though it is rare it is better to be sure as sometime you can get a false negative test. Have you been exposed to unprotected sex since the initial exposure? If so your partner should also get tested too. Hope this helps. It is not likely but best to be sure. Of course if your risk has changed you have to start over, but you haven't mentioned that. FYI, as you are probably aware condoms are never 100% protective. Let me know how it goes ok?
take care,

a someone recomment that ?how true is that ?

I would say if you are having symptoms after a 17 week negative DUO that they are related to something other than Hiv.

Definitely not!! As you were told DUO test is one of the best tests now available and you must be thankful because most users of this site does not have access to such tests. Negative DUO anytime after 3 months for me would be enough to not do further testing !! Your problem is not HIV. Seek professional help if you can not accept that.

Yes,both are final at 3 Months because the DUO looks for antibodies aswell and if you ask the experts doctors here at medhelp they say that p24 antigen can still be detected at 3 months.

Nothing to do with Hiv at all is what I would say.Honestly, there are people on this forum that would take that negative 17 week DUO and run and be so happy with it.You need to do just that.Come on,bring in the new year with happiness, not questions you don't need to ask.
