This thread is now closed.  There really weren't any differing opinions, but as freakedout2012 has asked in the doctor forum, we can close this.

It might be helpful to note that nPEP consists of antiretroviral medication.  Medications for herpes are antivirals.  Different type of virus, different type of meds.

nPEP is Post Exposure Prophlyaxis..it is a course of antiviral medications used in high risk situations, where someone had a real risk with a confirmed + person.  nPEP is given in those sitations to try and reduce the chances of seroconversion taking place in a high risk scenario.

A person on nPEP is advised to test at 3 months after their LAST dose of the medication.

You have a conclusive test for anything that happened 3 months ago and beyond. You don't have HIV.

Hello lizzie,and all
1st test no reason for reactive?

Sorry for the many questions. i appologize if too repetiton.

Discount 1st test, was done way too soon. So even if it was positive it would be meaningless from this exposure.

your test at 84 days was conclusive...PROVING that you don't have hiv.

further testing is not needed.
