I'd like to start by thanking the doctors here for the reassurance they continue to provide to us worrisome individuals. They have helped me with my fears of HIV and given me a better understanding of the risks and exposures. There was a time I was so scared about my zero risk exposure and read this forum for days in and out. The mind is so strong and it does whatever you tell it to (hence the swollen lymph nodes and night sweats and "ARS" symptoms). Thanks for the advice to get tested, and like you said my results were negative and all my symptoms even my GI problems ceased with the negative test result. Even with my regular safe sex practice, I continue to get tested twice a year for HIV and STDs for my own peace of mind, knowing my results will be negative before they even come back from the lab.
Unfortunately, a week ago I had a one night stand (I am a male - 26 y/o circumcised) with a female of unknown status (early 30s). We had unprotected oral sex and used condoms for a great portion of the time (vaginal intercourse only). I got carried away (imperfection) and the last 2 minutes were unprotected. She (my partner) reassured me that she was safe (but that doesn't mean much to me). Going over how it all went down, it is safe to assume that she is on the more promiscuous side (not like I am a saint either). Can you please assess my risk and also let me know at what point a negative test would rule out HIV. Thanks.
