Thanks for the comments. I just got the letter for her appointment. It is for the end of November but there was a note for me to call and get on the cancellation list. I am confused however because when they called me I was told it was the left ventricle but the appointment letter say
I would definitely follow this doctors advice and have an echocardiogram done by a pediatric cardiologist. My 16 yr old son just recently was heart transplanted at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale. He just got sick over a matter of hours and almost died and now my son who is 18 has been diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. My other 2 sons and myself have all been checked out and no problems at this time.
But please for your piece of mind and your daughters health have the Echo's done. All 4 of my boys had regular check-ups with EKG but never an Echo and I can never forgive myself for what the older 2 are having to deal with.
Good luck !
Hello,
EKGs are notoriously too quick to call heart chambers enlarged in young people. The only way to know is to do an echocardiogram. I would not worry about this one. It is reasonable to have your daughter checked by the pediatric cardiologist. I do not know of any connection between those lab results and an enlarged heart either.
Good luck and thanks for posting.
