Cardiac Ablation

I had a cardiac ablation done for SVT and told the cardiologist prior to surgery I had a blood clotting disorder. He said ok and went ahead with the ablation. He did not use any type of blood thinners or prophylactic precautions. I suffered a pulmonary embolism. Should he have used some form of blood thinners after surgery when he knew I had an increase risk for blood clots due to genetic mutations for MTHFR (double compound heterozygous)?
