On behalf of my uncle I am posting this. His question is If a person has normal heart and normal blood pressure +cholesterol how long does it take for plaque to build in coronary arteries to dangerous levels. No disease no smoking or drinking .

Altho smoking and drinking a diseases are not a good thing for any of us with plaque there is no time frame that it builds up in our systems.  It is all about diet and exercise basically.   There are also structural issues that filter into this as well...the good news is that if he has all of the top three under control thats a plus however its no guarantee that plaque will not build up in the arteries.  The main thing is to control the cholesterol through diet and exercise as a proactive lifestyle that can help minimize the opportunity for the plaque to build up which equals narrowing of the arteries to blockages which we all know can cause a heart attack.  The plaque that you are speaking of is the exact same type of plaque that builds up in our teeth and pops out when we floss and brush......the stuff is no good believe me.....hope this was helpful
