hepatitis B

I have unprotected intercourse with an hepatitis B patient who is under medical treatment since last 3 years. Whether I have the chances to get the virus. Is it curable?

I confess, I'm highly suspicious of these posts.  They seem to all occur at once and then go away for several weeks and then crop up 3 or 4 at a time again.  I won't be responding to them anymore as there are plenty of my responses in the archives to be found if people are so inclined.

is it curable ? no

now know this, adults infected with HBV have 90-95% chance to "clear" it within the first 6 months and then you are "cured" on your own . this is called an acture infection with very good chances of an adult body fighting off the virus . if after 6 months your body can not clear the virus then you turn into what is called a chronic carrier and then ofcourse you need to see a doctor for proper treatment methods ..

not sure how long you had sex with the hbv carrier but i would go get a test and see if i already have it or not.. i would also repeat the test a few times within the first 6 months to be on top of it.
