5 years for every Fibrosis stage F1-F2-F3-F4/cirrhosis,it varies on disease progression per person.
And of course there is always HCC waiting to popup, the more active the disease the higher the risk of it. This is a fatal cancer and you die within 1 year or so.
Thank you for your response. Did HBT ultrasound last year normal result. Did not undergo anymore procedures. What other tests would you suggest to screen for Fibrosis?
Yes, Fibroscan or liver biopsy. Anyhow you should be under hepatologist supervision.
Assuming your test results fall in the range that docs would recommend treatment, why do you choose not to receive medication?
Just wondering.
Most die of other causes, hbv is mainly benigne on most carriers only a small percentage will develop cirrhosis and hcc in a life time, usually after 40yo
this said somebody will fall in the percentage of those who will dye of cirrhosis or hcc and without knowing and treatment these may dye...cirrhosi is very slow therehas been centenarios with cirrhosis found at biopsy
.. keep in mind nowdays we ahve nuc that can be used lifetime to regress even cirrhosis... so hbv is definitely manageable... and we're lucky to know we are carriers.. lot of people do not know this and live till they find out F3-F4..
I don't understand why you people say lifetime. There are many clinical trial coming within 5 years out,the company wants to profit, not to leave people to die, they have their interest and we have our benefit., as the grmr says we are lucky that we know it,
Stef, i like the way you talk to us. I surf on clinical trial about using tdf and + peg after 92 weeks. It is a clinical trial on phase 4. May I know are you in this trial?,if yes i would appreciate to share it with us,the results are so far positive as i see

Appreciate your suggestion, calebz. How much is the cost of that procedure?
I didn't have a biopsy - that is covered by my health insurance. I decided I won't let them stick a needle in me untill its really necessary.
Fibroscan starts with 60euro in Poland + some more euro for hepatologist evaluation of your score.
stef i love you man but use the damn spell checker :)
Because there is no symptoms. One of the doctors said that you will have to live with it all your life. Is it too late for a any medication or supplemental drugs?
Hi, where are your current residence?
I think at the very least fibroscan is important than the dreaded biopsy. Since your LFT is normal, I would recommend checking your HBeAg status (positive or negative), your HBV DNA and your HBsAg numbers if possible.
Since you have no vices, I guess you are in good shape and BMI are in orderly fashion? Do supplement yourself with Vit D3 as many are deficient with this vital vitamin.
Good luck.
Age is 29
My fibrosis is at stage 3 and HAI grade is 11.
HBV DNA was 557 million 3 months ago. (I will get the new number 10 days later)
Ultrasound is totally normal.
I have been using ETV 0.5.
I have a very healthy life style and a fit body.
Should I wait to death? Is it possible to get my healthy liver back with ZERO fibrosis and ZERO HAI or even very low (I do not mean 5-10 percentage)?
What do you think?
@SS.. you have F3 and you've done rigth thing to start ETV.. you'll expereind HBV DNA und ad Fibrosis regression...
I think you should stay safe a do not worry...
by the way are you EAG +ve or -ve? have you ever had any IFN course?
what a good to hear :))
I am not sure for the fibrosis regression. Some says YES for the regression, some say NO...
EAG +.
I diagnosed 6 months ago.. I started ETV 3 months ago. Before that I have NOT used any medicine.
i'm also EAG+ and my DNA is slowly increasing after two ifn courses.. anyhow i suspect you're a carrier since birth like most of us are... i've read it is strange EAG+ and signinfcan liver damage...
perhaps stef can help as he regressed cirrhosis...
regression of firbosis is not based on antivirals and hbvdna undetectable only, also food and life style must change
fibrosis is present in most livers without hbv due to processed foods, so a change to organic food/fresh vegetables, zero chemicals in food, oxidative stress within normal range on serum tests and hbvdna und will regress cirrhosis 100%
Dear Stef,
Thank you for your valuable sharing. As we all know, HBV does nothing to us. Fibrosis caused by immune system through the presence of HBV damages our liver. It makes very important of the issue of fibrosis. What I demand from you is that you share a very simple, clean, informative and easy to follow anti-fibrosis guide in a detailed manner. Can you do that for us? If NO, we as the community still continue to like you :)
Regards.
Hello. I'm from Manila,Philippines.
I might consider Fibroscan though. I had my hepa profile last January 2013. SGOT 34.75, SGPT 18.68.
Hbsag reactive 2.939, HBeAg non reactive 0.136, Anti Hbe Reactive 0.172,
Anti-HCV Non Reactive 0.139.
Alarming? What's the next step for me to do?
Many thanks!
Wow....Ok, you seem to be a healthy carrier. Based on that numbers, I guess your HBV DNA will be low. Have you checked your HBV DNA?
LFT all good and not out of range. You are in good shape. I suggest to you healthy lifestyle with high alkaline diet (fruit and veg). Maybe add Vitamin D3 into your diet as Vit D is hard to get in good amount from the sun or from food. :)
That's good to know! I haven't undergo any tests aside from hepa profile. Is the HBV DNA will cost much?
