Hello there, new user here.
3 weeks ago I got tested for hep b, these were the results:
HbsAg positive
HbeAg positive
Anti Hbc negative
Total Anti Hbc negative (????)
Anti Hbs positive 43 ui/ml (?????)
Anti Hbe negative
These results are puzzling given I never formed hbc antibodies (no igM or igG).
Dr got suspicious and we made another test 4 days later, this time with viral dna:
HbsAg positive
HbeAg positive
Anti hbc, total Anti Hbc: negative.
Anti Hbs positive (33 ui/ml)
Anti Hbe negative
Viral DNA: non detected (?????????)
Alt 40
Ast 21
Extremelly weird results given i was hbeag positive.
1 week later, I get strong symptoms, mainly fever, quite strong upper right abdomen pain, diarrhea and malaise. The fever and pain lasted for 2 days, the malaise for 2 days more, and the diarrhea 1 more week.
1 week after initial symptoms, i made another test. Now this is the shocker:
HbsAg negative
HbeAg negative
Total Anti Hbc, Anti Hbc negative
Anti Hbs positive 15 ui/ml
Anti Hbe negative
Viral DNA non detected
Alt 75
Ast 32
I think this test results are quite shocking, given i never made hbc antibodies, never made hbe anti bodies, only made hbs antibodies which appear to be effective given no viral antigens and no viral load found. All this just 1 week after symptoms. I would guess the tests were wrong somehow, however all 3 tests predict the outcome accurately (symptoms 1 week after having hbs and hbe antigens, relatively low alt which is consisten with no antigens and viral load and feelibg perfectly fine).
I would love to think I have the immune system of superman, however i know not falling into the expected serology profiles is seldom a good thing. Can anybody explain whats going on here?
Extra info:
I cannot identify the vector of infection since I'm really not sexually active person and do not have contact with much people at all. I had an unprotected encounter in february 2016, but i tested for all stds including a complete hbv panel 2 months and 1 week after the encounter and i tested negative for all. The only other "probable" vector of infection would be a surgery for a femoral hernia in november 12th 2016. The surgery is consistent with the appearance of symptoms median time (75-90 days).
In the test done 3 weeks ago, i tested nehative for all other heatitid including d, negative for all other stds including hiv as well.
