6 months therapy ended. no result. What should i do now?

Hi Everybody

As u will be aware that my Hep C is still positive even ribavirin and  Inteferon therapy of 6 months.

My question is:-

1) What kind of care i need in daily diet??

2) what kind of tests i should carry on if i am not going for any further treatment.  Like should I continue LFT after every two months + Ultra sound abdomin after every three months. :(

I am feeling very weak now a days so cant do any exercise.  however not eating much sugar, salt and no alcohol.  Getting LFT every two months.  ultrasound every 4 months.  But no biopsy yet :(

how liver demage can be measured??? :(

treatment cost is very high, so i am trying to live with it :(

Sorry to hear the meds didn't work for you.

Eat a low fat, sugar & salt diet with exercise. Of course NO alcohol.  You should get LFT's,AFP, ECT & ultrasound every 6 months. Biopsy every 3-5 years.

Not sure what kind of liver damage you have now but I think it is foolish for you not to treat with the new drugs coming out soon.

Living with HCV is very hard and eventually it will sneak up and bite you in the butt. Hopefully it isn't to late to treat at that time.

And don't forget the other things it can cause, lymphoma, kidney disease, etc, etc
