Hi, I can so relate to what you you are thinking, I did 24 weeks of tx with out tellling anyone. I felt very good most days of tx. I still hung out with my friends and acted ''NORMAL".
I wanted a drink many times, but never did! and I was always sooo glad the next day that I never did.
Treatment will be over before you know it, now is all about your liver! you will be glad you waited.
Take Care Pam
My hepatologist likes to say that it's like throwing gasoline on a fire....
just wanted to say hello and welcome...
Man, what R U thinking, DONT DO IT!
Geno 1B, 58 years old, pre-tx vl 1.5 million, stage 3. Treated only once. 54 weeks of Pegasys and Copegus. Non-detectible at week 6. Now almost one year post treatment and still non-detectible. Difficult time with sides during treatment and still have some.
Forsee says, "he he he"....
You're such a girl, LOL.

Alright, alright, no wine. Thanks guys for setting me straight. Also, jmjm530 when did you svr and what meds did you do it on? How many times di you treat and for how long?
I think Honey has it right, honestly people don't notice or care what you are drinking. It makes it even easier to just have a drink in hand with no alcohol in it.
The last thing you want to do is take a risk like that after going through this miserable treatment.
I thought people would comment too but nobody has. I have a fizzy water or something and just as much fun and no hangover.
Hope you ahve a great time at the wedding, congrats to your friend.
good answer!! he he he...hope youre well...
I can't answer your question but I would think the potential damage would be less if you were near the end of your tx and have been und for some time. Still a risk though. If you are not yet und then you may have set yourself back to square one. Definitely tell your doctor about it. I'm sorry you gave in. Trust me, more than once I've thought about a nice cool beer but so far have slain that dragon.
Good luck
ya neverrrrr know????? on these boards? I could be packin a punch! ha ha! Remember when certain members thought I was a guy, and that you were a woman?..no offense and I love ya, but I KNEW you were a guy when I read some snippets of your relationship advice, lol...other then that, I'd go to you for a lot of different types advice, your an asset to the board...

Yeah, well, my track record in that dept ain't exactly exemplar but thought my "advice" was good. Maybe not, eh :)
St. George--you slay me!:) I don't blame you for wanting to have a glass of wine, but did you really think anyone here would give you the thumbs up? I wanted a glass of wine so-o-o bad Thursday after driving to Corpus Christi with teenagers and a son who was getting on my nerves. I called friends, my husband, daughters and got my whine in the easy way! One friend even suggested having a margarita but I reminded her about the tx. There are two occasions when it's hard not drinking--funerals and weddings!;)
Better add quickly that on that "one occasion" post treatment I had a beer and a half but it was "Lite" beer so in actuality really only counts as one beer or even less :)
Actually one very well repected member here who is now SVR and no longer posts much, mentioned they had what I believe to have been a single glass of wine during treatment. Personally, I was a bit taken back as that thought never entered my mind during treatment. I waited until I was three months post treatment to have my first glass of wine and except for one occasion, never had more than one glass (or bottle of beer) at a sitting. If you're already thinking "2-3 glasses" I think you should just forget about it both during and most probably post treatment.

I can't believe you even asked that.
I'm sure there is others that have but I was one,,that didn't! Just too much time going into this tx and the expense is off the wall even if insurance is covering and the what ifs,,,,if you didn't reach SVR would also be something to look at. Its your call of course,,,I just found through that year of tx and after,,,when you are at social gatherings,,,people really don't notice if you are drinking water,,wine or whatever.
During my first treatment, my eldest daughter was married. I had no wine. Navarro does make two fairly good non-alcohic wines and I had some of those. A gewurtztraminer and a Pinot Noir, if memory serves.
I was told my many physicians including that daughter that the wine will interfere with the treatment.
