A note on toe fungus
Hi everyone
While reading my recent copy of Nutrition and Healing by Dr. Jonathan Wright I came across this little bit of information that might be interesting to someone. "There are over the counter drugs as well as prescriptions that can clear the problem, but they can adversely affect liver function." I have been trying to get rid of my toe fungus for 2 years with over the counter meds but I will stop it and go to what he suggested, rubbing in oregano oil, geranium oil, and tea tree oil all over and around the toe nail.

i have the same deal on one thumbnail too! it's weird, at the tip of the nail it always cracks when it's growing out. i wondered if it was a fungus or something. i'll ask the doc. thanks for the med tip.

wow- for a minute there i thought i was on the airhead america site with al franken!i got news for you pal. the search engine companys are not interested in your privacy. they are interested in pure profit. case in point. are you aware yahoo turned over the identity of a chinese disident journalist that eventually ended up in his arrest & imprisonment. why? to get the approval of the chinese gov. that allowed yahoo to expand(albeit censored) in china. and honestly, if a "questionable" foreigner overseas is speaking to a "questionable" person in the US, it's the Gov's. JOB to check it out. sorry for the rant. don't even know why politics are being discussed here. i'm here to learn about my disease- Hep C. i'll go away now.:-)
hey justa "dipp"-regarding question about Cornwall SAealions--they are a swimteam that daughter belongs to....Great facilitys(just moved into them-public pool for all!)great team mates and a great coach-she is bringing home 1st place medals & i am 1 proud pappy--i do fundraising bingo on friday nites--a place & a people i had never enjoyed before-whole subculture w/ own nomenclature & rituals.........just in case i'm being watched-" i am presently wrapped in flag,holding a bible & sitting on a big pile of money;oh and my weapons are loaded...lol,,i'm joking..."
Seems I can't do anything right -- I have the infection on my thumbnails! It's not the entire nail, but a vertical line running up the center of both nails. My doctor -- the one smart enough to dx my hcv -- prescribed a topical. It's called: Penlac Nail Lacquer; ciclopirox, topical solution, 8%, by Dermik Aventis. It's rather expensive -- my copay is $50, but my health plan has high copays anyway. I used it several months ago and it worked, but the infection has returned. I'm trying it again as it probably requires several treatments. BTW -- I haven't started hcv tx yet -- probably by the end of February.

Just for the record, I am NOT Canadian, I live in Canada...I was born in Boston and live in TN prior to coming to Ontario 7 years ago, when I married my husband Bob...I have landed immigrant status here in Canada but I am not, and will never be a Canadian citizen, by my own choice, I am an American citizen just like you...
Yes, my husband is in law enforcement and he is just as appauled by this as I am...But, in defense of the US governement, they are only gathering data, not individual names, not yet anyway! What's next, take away freedom of speech...I think the Patriot Act is criminal!!
Here, in Canada, you CANNOT just get personal info on anyone at a whim, you need a WARRANT, and you have to have just cause, not just a want to see the info...Let's say, the cops think Joe Smoe is selling child porn...they need to get a warrant to serve on the ISP to view the data exchange, or if they think someone is selling drugs, they need a WARRANT to get before they can tap their phone lines...It is very lenghtly and you need quite a bit of evidence before WARRANTS are granted!
I hope google fights this to the courts!

Google is fighting. THey have come right out front and said they will not allow their search engines to be inspected by the government. The ACLU defends the position of Google and thinks they did the right thing by making it upfront that they were not going to bend to the government. The government wants to know what everyone is googling -- supposedly in the search for porno, etc. Incidently, Google stock dropped 8% yesterday. It is said to be because the price is overflated, but maybe it is in reaction to this.
I have a little bit of yellowing on two toenails, ha ha! I wouldn't admit that to anyone else! But I used to just hide the problem with nail polish. Now I don't paint my nails because it's so toxic, so I just hope people don't check my toenails out that closely...and if they do I figure they need a hobby...

Doesn't your husband have something to do with the law. Ask him how easy it would be to find out tons of details about you. Unless you live without a ss#, do everything with cash, use no cards what-so-ever, only use public computers, and never create a stable residence; it would be very hard to live a completely private life. And it's been that way all of my life. Perhaps now the government is trying to find justification through the threat of terrorist.

haha Forsee,,,,I had that toe fungus on my big toe a couple of years ago and it was so hard to get rid of. But the Vicks does do the trick,,,,You have to use it twice a day and it takes a very long time but you will notice it starting to clear and can't quit until there is no fungus at all or it will start spreading again. Just use a cotton swab and coat your toe morning and night and its alot better then getting on a prescription.
thanks so much for the tip! I've actually had it on my little toe and the guy next to it for years now (one one foot.) Not really bad, but I can tell..my dad has it too...frankly, those meds sound kind of harsh, in fact I know of two different people who found out they had hep cause they had to monitor liver enzymes when you take that stuff...so of course I'll try the Vicks. Now what do you do, paste it on and then put some kind of covering on it while youre sleeping cause it rubs off no? I'll definitely try it...when it comes to vanity I have all the dicipline in the world, ha ha!
I haven't heard this on the news, but the fact is that it has been happening for a very long time. The government is just getting bolder about it. Peace

If you think the internet is anonymous, sorry but someone's always watching you. What do you think cookies are, alot of websites won't even let you in if you have cookies disabled. How do think they're starting to catch child molesters, would be bomb makers, etc. Your library card, grocery store discount card, everybody asked for a card or phone# or something. Because of using a grocery store card to get the sale price, someone could find out how much toilet paper my household uses if they want. Peace

On the toe issue, Believe ot not...I've heard Vick's Vapor Rub ointment is good for that. Also there's a sap from a tree, can't think of the tree right now, that works..
On the other hand, regarding your elevated ALT, maybe some of the antifungus stuff you're using is the culprit. All that antifungal stuff is hard on your liver.
