Can I still have Hepatitis C ??

Question:

I had the ALT high in 71 in one blood screening. I don't drink, don't do drugs and are not on prescription only using Prevacid and Pevcid for a gallbladder polyp that I have. Can this increase my ALT or possibly can be because of the problem with the gallblader. Also I took the Hep A, B and C test panel and showed that I was no reactive in all type of Heps. Can I still have Hep C and not been showed in the Hep test panel??

Thank's for any help regarding this.

When I had gallbladder problems my ALT levels were sky high, once it was removed the levels went down again.

Yes, lots of things can cause high liver enzymes. What does your doctor think?

If your tests showed no antibodies for Hep C, it is doubtful that you have it.  However, if you have recently been infected, it may take up to 30 days for the antibodies to show up.  Have you had an ultrasound?  Perhaps you have steatosis (fatty liver).  I think that can cause raised liver enzymes, but I suppose a lot of things can.
