failed treatment

I also just found this forum and I am just curious. I failed treatment and I am looking for just oral treatment. The interferon almost killed me and my past doctor is worthless so I am doing this myself. That is, trying to find treatment that is only oral. I am very patient and have had this virus for 20 years so I am used to it.

Well if you want to begin researching which meds will be available to you and when then here is a listing of all the current combos:

Another person who is active in the pursuit of Interferon free HCV medication protocols is Margaret Dudley. Just following someone like her and reading her posts both here and on FB will keep you aware of the developments in that arena. It is true this may be a while yet but don't forget there might be a trial or two you could be eligible for.

Here is a link about the Petition but it also has a few members names you could keep up with if you are going to do some of your own research:

Best of luck!

There is no all oral treatment available at this time.  You may be able to find a clinical trial, if you qualify, that might be all oral.  However, it's important to look at any potential clinical trial very carefully to make sure they will be of benefit to you.  www.clinicaltrials.gov
Otherwise the new all oral medications are currently being researched and tested and will hopefully be available in the next 2-5 years.
If you have had Hep C for 20 years, be aware of the fact that liver damage due to Hep C tends to progress more quickly as we get older, so it's important to monitor your liver frequently.  If you don't have Cirrhosis, you may only need to be monitored once a year, but if you do have Cirrhosis, you should probably be monitored more frequently, perhaps every 3-6 months.
Also, if you don't like your previous doctor, it's important to find another doctor that you do like and do trust.
