Fibroscan in NYC

Does anyone know where I can get a Fibroscan done in the NYC area?  I am 58, genotype 1a slow responder, went through 28 weeks SOC without success. I just had my first liver biopsy and the results were Stage 2 fibrosis, Grade 0 portal inflammation and Grade1 lobular inflammation.  However, my MRI shows a cirrhotic morphology, although my spleen is normal size (12.6 cm). I think a Fibroscan may be a good source of supplemental info.

Only three labs results were not normal:  ALT 97,  AST 75, GGT 74

All other labs are normal including:  Platelets 171, Total Bilirubin 0.8, Albumin 4.7

Not sure where to get fibroscan in NYC.  Makes sense that Sinai would since they have a large hematology service including pts that are poor candidates for biopsy.

I think most docs would treat based on biopsy over fibroscan results as it is considered the "gold standard" despite its flaws.  A good question for your hepatologist.

I would consider that spleen size to be mildy enlarged, but I'm not aware of spleen size predicting treatment choice or success.  Another question for your Dr.

Hope I didn't cloud the picture further.

best,
Robo

Mt Sinai now has one. That would be with Dr. Dieterich.
Good luck.

Unfortunately, I don't know where to get fibroscan in NY. I am sure, other members will respond with this information.

I just want to tell you that biopsy can make mistakes. It is not 100% accurate, because very small piece of liver is analyzed, and fibrosis of the liver is not always uniform. I would believe MRI, because it looks at the entire liver. Spleen can be normal in early cirrhosis.

What are your labs-platelets, bilirubin, albumin?
