First Week Clinical Study Lab Results - VL Going Down

Hi All,

I got my first week lab results for the trial that I am in (Gilead with DAAs + SOC) and my viral load dropped 2.58 logs from a baseline of 2.3 million to 11,500.  My liver enzymes are also moving down (ALT is at 62 from a baseline of 153 and AST is at 32 from a baseline of 95).  The pharmacist and trial nurse said that this is the type of first week result that is being seen in trial and that the goal is to get to UND as quick as possible.  I am thanking GOD and saying my prayers every day - in my first round of tx last October, my VL went from 5 million to 149,000 in 12 weeks and tx was stopped.  I have an il28b of T/T and am hoping that the wide range of new tx combos help me and others who are in that non responder/hard to cure group.  Thanks for all of your support - will keep you posted.
Best, jsf52

Thanks for the good thoughts.  Being in a trial has actually been less stressful than when I was in tx back in October.  Having access to the medical team and not having to deal with insurance companies and pharmacies makes it easier to focus on slaying the virus dragon.
