I am on Victrelis (the other treatment) which does not require fat with pills (which is why I chose this treatment) and still have put on weight. I have never weighted this much in my life. In the doctors eyes its not a lot but to me it is. I feel like a slug. Working Dog helped me with this and pointed out that its because I am anemic. Worse the first half of treatment but has leveled out to 10.2 now which is better. I no longer have to lay on the couch all day, just a 20 min nap will work for me. So, I am moving around more. Hopefully this will all level out and at the end will all pay off!

i've been trying to align my meals with the medication times, so i'm not eating too much more than before. but the late night med is a killer. do you know if the anemia affects how your body metabolizes caleries?
lucky its winter and i have plenty of sweaters! LOL! this cant be good for your health this rapid weight gain. but as opposed to liver cancer or something i guess its not too bad.
I had lost 40 lbs before starting treatment and I've put about 8 back on. Very discouraging considering I was finally 'normal sized' again before starting!
I blame my weight gain on two things: My tongue is so sore all the time I can't eat anything 'tasty'. I'm really limited to potatoes, bread and pasta. Not good. The other of course being the shortness of breath and really not being able to move a lot.
My beloved treadmill is no covered in laundry. Something I said would never happen... ;)
But it's *only* 8 lbs and I know that when I'm finished, I'll get it off again.
I was on Incivek and finished it almost 2 weeks ago. I had lost weight (22 pounds) during the summer but gained it back while taking Incivek (and 20 grams of fat 4 times a day, LOL). However, now that I am off Incivek I am losing that weight, already lost 8 pounds. Anyway, I figure if I get to SVR, it will be worth a few pounds. I can lose them later, after I finish treatment.
Just went shopping for sweat pants...yes, I feel like a whale and none of my clothes fit....4 more weeks of incivek for me
that is a good thought, thanks!
My husband hasn't gained or lost any weight since he started triple therapy with Incivek. It sounds like about 50/50 on this forum. Some are gaining and some are losing. Think of it this way, if you do gain during the 12 weeks or so that you are eating a lot of fat, and you reach SVR, it will all be worth it! You'll feel so good about being UND and then SVR that you'll be able to lose that weight easily!
