HBsAg

by ceruleanlondon, Oct 26, 2007 08:03PM
I was wondering if it is possible to be both HBsAg postiive and HBsAb positive. I recently got some blood work done and was positive for HBsAb. I wasn't tested for HBsAg. I very recently recieved the Hep B vaccine. I've never been tested for hep B so I started thinking that it was possible that I had it before I even got my vaccine and never even knew it because I've never had any symptoms. My question is, what happens if a person has hep B and then recieves the vaccine? Would they still test positive for the surface antibodies? Should I get tested for the surface antigens or does a poitive antibody test automtically mean I don't have hep B?
