Definitely yes .I was 1a and was giving up hope.Had to stop Incevek because of anemia problems but 1st followup I was UND.It is possible to beat it even those of us who are 1a.
I thought you tested negative for antibodies?
Yes as NYGirl and others said, yes you can be cured.
Yes. With the older Pegasys & Ribavirin treatment, people had to be virus free for about 10 years before claiming they were cured."
No. I took peg and riba for 72 weeks back in 2005 and when the virus was not back in one year it was considered SVR. Now they have changed it to six months after you stop the meds.
Has nothing at all to do with Inc or Vic...SVR is six months after you stop tx.
Lots of us old timers beat the disease with just peg and riba, our odds just were not as good and sometimes we had to treat longer.
Yes. With the older Pegasys & Ribavirin treatment, people had to be virus free for about 10 years before claiming they were cured. With the new triple therapy (Pegasys, Ribavirin, and Incivek or Victrelis) I suspect people will be able to claim they are cured if they are virus free 6 months, or maybe a year, after completing treatment. Bottom Line: If someone has a Sustained Virological Response (SVR) they can be considered cured.
Hi I was treated over 6 years ago for Hep C ...Genotype 1. I have been undetectable ever since. The treatment was hell, but my liver functions are all back to normal and I feel great. Push through the treatment if your on it. It is worth it !
Well i see you made it over here now to the hep c forum, you might want to put your yes or no questions in one thread since there our others here.
Answer to your question is yes but you will always have the antibodies.
