So sorry you have relapsed!  How long after EOT did it happen?

No experience with Harvoni, but waiting for EOT Week 12 results for same tx and same Gt, so am very interested!

Has your Dr looked into Daklinza (daclatasvir) with Sovaldi?  Extensive testing has shown excellent response to that combo for Gt3 people.

Good luck, whatever tx you come up with!

Hi Rangle,
They don't really have good statistics on whether harvoni works for GT3, since it was only ever tried in 26 people.  It is thought they can't tell if harvoni works any better than sovaldi/riba without doing a bigger trial.  Also, you still need to use riba.  It is not FDA approved, and has to be sought as an off label treatment.

Daklinza, (daclatasvir) should be out in June though, and it is an excellent deug for GT3 with extremely high cure rates, low side effects, and NO RIBA!  This is what I would have waited for if I hadn't have been so sick with cryoglobulinemia.  Unless you are at F3/4 and don't feel you can wait a,few months despite the break your liver had at least while,on the sovaldi, you might consider asking your doctor, about the newer meds.  There is also a new pangenotypic (works on all genotypes) drug feom Gilead due out soon.

Genotype 3 are harder to treat in the Valance clinical trial the results were 85% SVR for GT 3

Sorry you did not make SVR this time but there are new treatments coming soon don't give up!

My Dr told me ( I can't quote any studies here, as he told me and I accepted that) that SVR rates for us Gt3s on Sovaldi/Ribavirin was from 58- 83 %.  He felt like tx was really necessary for me then as Daklinza was not yet approved and he believe that due to my Stage F-3 Fibrosis, I needed to at the very least, protect the liver, which is why I didn't wait.

Sorry, Happy Fingers at work.

Sorry yous was not cleared, but Tr1gger is right about the fact that Daklinza will be out soon, and several of the manufacturers ARE working on a pangenotype Cocktail, which seems to be, again, according to my Dr, to be very promising.

Also Europe, Japan, and maybe some other countries already have the Dac, which is prescribed to be taken WITH Sovaldi.

BTW, Bristol, Myers- Squibb make the Daklinza.  If looking it up on the internet, also look for it under Daclatasvir. Daklinza is a Brand Name.

The FDA is slated to review the NDA within a 6-month timeframe.

That Cancer diagnosis thru a wrench into your likelyhood of SVR.  It makes succeeding at Tx a bit more of an obstacle.  You won the war and the liver is now at peace in regards to newer evolved Tx.
Keep your spirit as the new regimens should do the trick.  You've had enough of a set back and it's time to roll.  We are on the brink of eradicating this virus completely and forever.  Your turn is next!
