AD Help

On tx for 2 weeks with Pegintron, Ribavirin and Incivik.  Went from 3.4 million down to 4000 in one week.  My question is what are some effective anti depressant rx that you recommend.  I am getting nothing done while on tx, just sleeping and 'acting' detached/isolated.  My motivation is lost or my drive to work hard.

I was looking for some pick me up to get me moving as these strong cocktails are making me sleep and somewhat anti-social (I am not calling or returning calls).  What worked for you all?

Thanks
Kita

Thanks all he gave me lexapro (20mg), I will see how this is and report back.  Apparently I won't see results for a week.

i started paxel 2 months before tx....couldn't handle them...they knocked me out...changed to zoloft...they make me sleepy too but i'm glad i take them...i never took an ad before ..the tx can make you uptight and snappy...narrow minded...i wanted to take prozac but while on tx they say paxel or zoloft...keep a close eye on your blood work...for some of us the sx can get intense...you might be getting anemic....you may need rescue drugs soon...maybe not...i would start an ad right away...they can take many weeks to start working.....billy

I think Prozac is the most prescribed antidepressant on tx.  That’s what my doc gave me.

I also have a prescription for adderall, an amphetamine.  It is great on tx.  It gets me out of bed and working and is the only thing that gives me any energy.  It is almost impossible to get a prescription for.  They only give it out for ADHD and Epilepsy.

Never felt "social" on tx, even on 50 mgs of Zoloft.  It just helped with the Riba Rage.

Seeing doc today because I am worth nothing, just want to take meds and hide in my sheets.  I am committed but this is taking over my life to the point that all I do is take meds.

My doc just thought it was good protocol to start before treatment - I think he could tell I was somewhat of a beotch on my own before treatment too ;) didn't want me to shoot those old blue haired church ladies driving 35 on the highway!

Oh, and I've wanted to shoot people on the highway before treatment.  Perhaps I should just get that script.  ;)

Thanks, nygirl7!  For those who have started ADs before treatment, is it because you treated unsuccessfully in the past and knew that you would need them?

I took Paxill started a month before treatment at 10mg and went up to 20mg when I started treatment.  It seems to have helped me very well because aside from the occasional desire to want to shoot people on the highway - I was fine.

Unfortunately, lethargy is one of the biggest problems of any treatment at all...

Sue I never could sleep at night but boy could I sleep at my desk, in my car anywhere but when I got to bed!

I'm interested to see the responses because I, too, am experiencing similar feelings.  Work is beyond a chore to me these days.  I had 22 voice mail this morning and I'm only down to 18 now...

I had wondered if anyone else was getting -more- sleep on treatment because I see a lot of comments about insomnia.  I've had the reverse.  I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.  Sometimes before it does.  I fall asleep sitting up, on lawn furniture, the grass...  Just about everywhere, I can't get enough sleep.

I'm in week 5.

Sue
