I think the length of treatment, for some people, is determined by whether or not they are undetectable at week 4.  You will have labs drawn at week 4 to determine if you are undetectable.  But, as flcyclist said...give your question another shot.  :)

Actually, Vertex recommends the patient have a viral load done a weeks 4 & 12 only but I don't think additional PCR's are a bad idea.

They should be testing your viral load at least once a month maybe every two weeks. Joe

They do a PCR, a viral load test.  If not undetected at 4 weeks, the viral load must be under 1000 IU/mL to continue and the patient does not qualify for 24 weeks of treatment, they are required to do 48 weeks of treatment.  That is if the viral load is under 1000 IU/mL at 12 weeks and undetected by 24 weeks.

From what I've seen, most people are undetected at 4 weeks but it doesn't happen with everyone.   Make sure you take the meds with 20 g of fat.

Can you rephrase your question?  Don't worry, just blame it on the meds - I usually do. haha
