New Sheriff in town!
I am the new sheriff in town and I am going to lay out the law for you all. Since the last
i too, think WTC movie is very important for people to see...it is a huge part of history, and i feel my grand children will probably see this movie in their schools some day in the future....i definitely have to be in the mood for a good cry when i go see it...my brother and sister both live in nyc and though both are alive and well, it was a very scary time for our family....and for those who think it is "too soon" to remember the horror, it for one think it is "too soon" to forget, and i feel we as a country "changed" for a while after 9/11 and we were a kinder, gentler nation, but we have gotten back to our old ways too quickly....some of us need the reminder of that historic day we all lived through...
I am new to this forum. Kinda wondering now If I've already ask to many questions. I just hope there are people on this site as eager to help me as I would be more than happy to help anyone. In any way I can. So please everybody be patient with me until I get the hang of this. Thanks

Good job! I love the rules. They're great. I, for one, will diligently follow them and agree to gang up (respectively) on anyone else who doesn't.
I'm with you though about who is gonna replace our sherrif, really sucks that we don't have our sherrif anymore. Maybe if we all follow the rules, the sherrif will come back on his own.
We're just gonna have to work on that one.

Welcome to your new job! I was kind of afraid this town would just run itself as it has been for some time. We really have some great law abiding citizens here to support you, count me in. I'm afaid that you will have to take a pay cut for not taking on all the responsibilities of the job, but your honesty about your lack of knowledge is refreshing. I'm sure you will see that in this community we have many people who will share that part of the job description. We have many intelligent caring people here. I have just recently joined this community and am not looking to move any time soon, I'll take the bad with the good like everything else in life. Hope you do the same.

What tha heck happened here? What ever it was , I , 52tele , had nothing to do with it. Now , I'm going back to bed , I'm not ready for this today.

I just wish everyone could understand the little piece of info my mom told me on advice. "No matter what advice someone might give you, you don't have to take it at all, just listen (or read) and then take from it what is right for you and disregard the rest. what might be right for you might not be right for someone else." We as a group need to understand that and no matter the advice, it is always given here with the attempt to help someone else and it might not be right for that person but someone else reading might be able to use it in their lives and be a real help.

Great rules, but tell you the truth I think the majority of the people knew of them to be the "unspoken rules", as far as the ones that relate to kindness and respect.

One never knows how someone's words can help, even if it helps just one person, so even if for that reason alone, we should never view someones comment as insignificant, meaningless or unworthy to be spoken.Just think of the damage it can cause to the one being judged, if they possibly have a life where they are always put down for everything they say. I don't believe this is the case, but that can happen. Someone like that usually rebels and then concedes to being beaten down and into thinking maybe the person was valid with their comment. Abuse is abuse, comes in subtle and blatant forms.
As far as running the "sheriff" out of town, I was encouraged to read this is a temporary thing. And anyhow, a good school principal, shouln't be allowed to be run out. The students and parents should object and suspend the students who broke the rules, or at least personally speak to the students as to how to conduct themselves.
I'm sure everything will work out, but one thing I noticed that was funny, was that some people who are always posting, are no where to be found and others came out of the woodwork and someone even got up off the couch to tell me what a horror I was.What amazes me is when I think of what it would be like to work with some of these people who chose to stay silent when they saw evil things being said. If they are afraid to say something to people that can't even see them, what would they be like in the real world. Crazy stuff.

LOL Have to laugh here Mom would be shocked "me quoting her" because this was her response to me telling her I didn't need her advice when I was a young adult. too funny. she was so right and her words have stayed with me thru my life.

the only sheriffs here are Cindy and Phillip , everybody else, including me, are members and contributors. The rules for the forum can be read in the Terms and conditions(link at the top of the home page). You can also read the history behind Med Help, quite inspiring.
I do not understand begging someone to stay that has not said is leaving. No one ran anyone off, two people made suggestions to a person that might not have been to his liking so he decided to take a break. Unfortunately, by announcing it each time, a turmoil is created that is unwarranted. THis happens time and again in this forum, and most of the time you only see the newcomers begging, because the older members have seen it before and know that those that truly leave, never announce it.
In any case, have fun with whatever rules you want to follow, whatever helps while on tx, do it. THis is an open forum for hepatitis and its related issues, and anyone is afforded an opinion.
There is always going to be a favorite person, for whatever reason, at different generations of the Hep forum.
THis site can be a lifeline to many on tx, newly dx, or those waiting. People come and go as they choose and need, it is the nature of the forum. Make it work for you.

No one ran anyone off, two people made suggestions to a person that might not have been to his liking so he decided to take a break. Unfortunately, by announcing it each time, a turmoil is created that is unwarranted. THis happens time and again in this forum, and most of the time you only see the newcomers begging, because the older members have seen it before and know that those that truly leave, never announce it.

It's not the first time there have been big arguments or name calling or whatever. This is a public internet FORUM so everyone is not always going to agree on anything and you HAVE to be able to share your opinion and then walk away.
Recently I was very upset with someone so I just x'd out of the forum for a few days so I could calm down. No big pronouncements of leaving, just did what was best for me.
After a couple of days I wasn't so mad anymore and came back to help support new people.
It's the way of the world around here. Cindy and Phil do an INCREDIBLE job of dealing with all our childish ways and keep this forum on track.
I wish there was something I could do to help them as much as they've helped us all.

I still love this place!! God bless each and everyone of you!! Thanks for the laugh this morning, and reassurance that this sillyness is common in this forum. I am one of those people who are not working through tx, and had to drop classes due to the death of my brother June 14, and to be honest, I don't know if I could handle college algebra, biology, among other classes I had signed up for in the fall while taking tx... SOOOOO, consequently for the mean time, I am one of those people who HAVE NO LIFE at the moment other than my children and this place..LOL. As much as I check this site throughout the day,(which is ALOT), I am really getting to know the wonderful people here, and feel like they could become my second family...I'll take the good with the bad anyday and love you all already in an unconditional way!! Gee what a rhyme. Love to all, mkeela.
