Hi Karen,
How goes the battlefield? Your troops holding up?

Karen you sound like you're in good hands. Trust your doctor, get your numbers up. MY platelet were at 25 at week 4 and I have no idea if I'm even going to have any left at my next appt., my doctor doesn't want to see a blood test until week 12 so I'll be going from week 4 to week 14 by the time I get more of my results back. At least you have a doctor who is watching you. Mine just has me on procrit from week 4. I've been tempted to insist on a more recent blood test but I was afraid like you that he would cut my dose if I dropped lower. I'm just trying to live to week 14 on all the right doses. I don't know what goes through our doctors minds why some worry more then others, why some react sooner then others. I sleep all the time but I'm on the procrit and I can go out and shop for food if I when I have too, but I'd never be able to work like you are. You're going to be fine. You're in good hands. Wishing you all the best. Don't let fear get to you. I've given that up the day I started to treat. What will be will be......Now I'm getting teary. These damn meds......
To all....Jus got home. Lots of parents came out. Who can feel bad when a teenager asks their parent to come meet you? Gosh I'm crying like a baby at ur posts. Guys, I'm so glad I didnt have time to sit home n fret tonight. I snuck in about 30 min of phone calls to specialty pharmacy, Dr. office, n both my insurance companies before 5:00.
Wow. I'm just stunned at the outpouring of compassion. I fell apart SO quickly when I heard the news. I shot my message to this forum even before I told family n close friends. You're support means so much to me. You've been there. I believe you when you say to hang in there n ride it out. I have so much confidence and faith in many areas of life. But nothing meant more to me than coming home to this.
I told Dr. office I want the quickest way back into full doseage tx. I refuse to give up or give in. Tonight's meeting w/ parents served to remind me that I have a purpose in life and I'm gonna fulfil it.
I slept 14 to 16 hours a day all weekend. Gotta a lil adrenaline going tonight. Kinda scattered in my thots. But I'm working on a game plan.
Billy - what a heart. I know everyone one of us would do anything to help each other. What a privilege to know you. And.... if rx companies don't listen? I may jump in my lil car and head to ur house. lol. Don't mess w/ a hep c patient armed w/ hope. haha!
I'm going all the way sappy: I love you guys. Karen <3 Sitting here feelin the good vibes comin at me.. :)
Your putting up a good fight Karen. There's really no choice but to reduce your dose for now. Are you taking the promacta for the platelets yet? You've really had a great attitude through all this, your a heck of a strong woman and hopefully this will pay off for you.
Good luck,
Dave
I am hoping for you to get your meds soon and to have your numbers come back up so that you can feel better soon and continue on with your TX. Best to you, Karen.

Hang in there, Karen. You've got all of us rooting for you! No doubt, you're feeling like crapola with an hgb of 8. Hope you get the rescue meds started tomorrow so some recovery is in the near future. Like Will says, that RVR is a huge factor in your favor. Hang onto that thought over the next coupla days.
Pam
I am sorry to hear the numbers too. Try not to worry, I also heard the 80 % figure quoted by elpasolady so hang in there.
That was super kind working dog.
I am praying for you.

Like everyone has said, we are on our side. When you have a chance, check with your dr to see if they have a case manager who can help you with the pharmacy battles - sometimes these guys are worse than the virus! Get rest and take a day for yourself if possible.
Hang in there Karen. We're all cheering for you girl. These meds can beat you down, but we know you can keep up the fight. Hope they get things worked out and you stay on course. Sending some positive energy to you and hope you feel better real soon. You can do it!
Karen....I hope you will soon be doing better...you have been very strong....hang in there. Ginger p
karen,so sorry to hear about your numbers. i hope things work out for you soon! i'll send a prayer your way. hang in there and remember we're hear for you.
billy, you're awesome. what a kind gesture. belle
Sorry to hear your having these problems. I had the same problems with the hgb . Praying you can get it turned around quick! Hang in there and get lots of rest!
Lydia
I will pray for you! It' will be okay, don't worry, just give it to God. Like willbb said...just a bump in the road. I just read a post where the Mayo doc said that with 80% of dosing you have the same chance at SVR as with 100% dosing. Keep your chin up, Karen. This will pass.
I am wondering how in the world, with numbers like that, you are still able to keep you schedule. Parent /Teacher conf. tonight?? OMG.....I think you need to call in sick. :) That can surely be exhausting!
Billy....I agree with Vann.....What a wonderful gesture. Poster of the day award, goes to YOU..... and Hector, for posting on why exercise is GOOD for you.
Hang in there, Karen.. You are not alone.
Karen,
So sorry about your latest labs. I will be praying for a transfusion or the rescue drugs so you can continue.
Billy...what a kind gesture!! Love it when we can help each other!! I also agree with Billy...take it easy.
Vann
Karen...this is a bump in the road to be sure..however keep your eye on the big picture..you have that RVR in your pocket....and hopfully with a temporary dose reduction and rescues your numbers will all come up.
Hang on......
Will
karen..i hope you don't push yourself...find a way to take it easy....my x had to cut her interferon and riba in half years ago and cured...if you need procrit right away i'll give you some to start..next day to your door.....no big deal......billy
I've been on the phone for an hour w pharmacy trying to get it funded. I so mad, scared, sad, frustrated n trying to get back to work for parent teacher night. Sigh.Karen :}

Sorry to hear this, but i think its a wise decision. Hoping your platelets start to rise soon so you can up your dose......... Being your hgb is at 8 are they going to give you procrit twice a week?
Hang in there!
Don't be discouraged. If you need to get your body more physically able to continue tx, then do it and move forward. Sending positive thoughts your way.
I hope your numbers improve soon. Hang in there! :)
