I think can do man came by his name in a similar manner. He was compelled to create a moniker based on a Sammy Davis Jr. song. CDM was almost to be known as Sweet Gingerbread Man
I learned a lot too!
Perhaps Loopy doesn't know - instead of STARTING a new thread (we only get so few a day) you hit POST A COMMENT below to reply to someone.
You are only allowed to start TWO NEW THREADS in a six month time period so everyone gets a chance (unless it's urgent...). We only get a couple new threads a day so we try to make them for something that everyone can discuss and not a reply such as this must in fact be.
:)
Yea, but how did you get your nickname? That's what I want to know. I'm guessing that you're a nice & young girl. Am I right? Mike
Nice and young...yeah that's it...that is exactly right...how'd ya know...
And you?...I always assumed it was after the type of ice cream flavor mikesimon by ben & jerry's ;)
That's why I like ya...for some reason I knew you reminded me of ice cream LOL
Craziness. I'm sitting here laughing and going to get fired and it feels GREAT! Thank you. LOL thank you a lot.
This has the makings of an extremely informative thread. Mike
I just wrote nygirl because I am from NY and couldn't wait to post so didn't come up with a more original name like I usually would. I didn't care much I ws so anxious to get in and so hello.
But I guess it fits me now...funny your name can determine who you are. Maybe it helped me become so stubborn and determined to beat this thing hahaha.
And all this time I thought you were a Muslim Cleric with a constituency of one guy named mike (and a bit of a spelling problem). Well thanks for clearing that one up.
first thanks for helping the marcso folks.
You said.......Pretty clever don't ya think......... Was this before you wrecked you bike or after? That had to take some thought Mike:)
As for mine, candoman......... Well enough said.
I can, and i do....... OH heck who am i kidding? after 20 weeks of this poison, i'm more like the book 'The little engine that could' Oh my shame. I might as well tell it or my wife would have read it and spilled her guts anyway. I hope your happy now cuteus. With my tail tucked between my legs.
The first forum I joined was a flashlight board so I picked sunspot as that is how bright I want a flashlight to be. I do have some really bright ones but not to the level of a sunspot. The quest continues. You can find me on gun, phones, cars, knives, flashlight and satellite forums as sunspot.
poor loopy's thread closed on her and could not answer cando's question, I guess the next best thing would be to hijack an empty thread?
cuteus is short for cuteusbelleus, Belle been my deceased ferret's name, and of course she was cute! the 'us' is the 'latin' version of the names, per Coyote/road runner cartoons. anyone with skype can find me by that name.
I picked oh great, because it is what I say when I hear bad news. And last 4 months I have heard a ton of bad news, from my girlfriend going into treatment to me having Hep C. But hopefully I can swing it around the other way and say it positively and upbeat.. like "OH! [thats..] Great!! [news...]" :)
When I hear bad news I say "oh boy". I chose my name because that's my name. Well, my first and middle name that is. Pretty clever don't ya think? Mike
And I picked my nickname thinking that's what I'd be while on tx. NOT!!!!!!! What a misnomer that turned out to be.
Mattie
Ack Argh LMAO lol....I dont even know yins all that well & I already luv yins' sense of humor. yer all to be admired , people of my own heart. Smiling thru tears.
How much can say about flashlights??? I like the screen name though.
52tele is my givin name. My dad was 51tele.
When i joined the board , i asked myself who do i want to be,at that time i was feeling real bad just fixing to start tx,and had been feeling like a big ole pile of rust...isaid to myself,oh to feel Goldyn again...and that is still my hope
came from a 60LB pit bull
from the Lowell George/Little-Feat song, willin, which is how I felt around week 20, when I found this place. I still think it's a pretty good tx theme song.
Ever hear the LG 'Thanks I'll Eat it Here' album? I have it stashed away on vinyl somewhere.... with no means of playing it of course.
Picked my name 'cause that's how I like spending time -- clowning around with my son and his friends.
yeah, old rockers are an endless source of inspiration. If Keith Richards still has to worry more about falling out of a palm tree than about his liver, I figure my liver stands a chance too, no matter how many times I relapse.
Algernon was a mouse in a study. The experiment turned him into a very smart mouse but then he started becoming less and less and less smart/very stupid. When I created my name, I was feeling major brain fog--like little Algie. I won't tell you how the book turned out (if you haven't read Flowers for Algernon) but let's just say I'm more optimistic about my outcome (SVR or not).
They say that most of us with die with HepC not because of it. Falling out of a tree with HepC would be one way...
okay, I'm stymied, what is a flashlight board??? I gotta know...
Kieth Richard and a few other rock stars and big bucks luminaries get their blood routinely "cleaned" did you ever see that movie Rockstar? There's a scene of some old rocker doing it...or at least Kieth used to, maybe he doesn/t need to anymore...although you wouldn't think so if he's falling out of trees...
my name's kinda corny but I guess it's grown on me...I just wanted a positive name once I got diagnosed...
