PILL BOXES

I must admit...using a pill box to keep track of them is pretty cool...i got one at the dollar store...its got 7 flat style boxes ,each label for each day of the week with 4 comparments in each box ..breakfast..lunch..supper  and bed time....i just load it up on shot day fridays and when its emty i refill.....FOOL PROOF...there is no way to miss the dose now....THIS IS AWESOME

Not totally fool proof!  Be sure to use the diary the study provided to double-check yourself.  Around week 14 I forgot to take my morning dose (brain fog) and had the bad habit of entering the doses in my diary at night or the following morning.  I out-tricked myself.  Part of my problem was that I have had a hypo-thyroid for years and take a daily dose, but it has to without food, while the tx drugs are to be taken with food, as you well know, and between odd eating patterns and nausea it made it hard to juggle the two methods of taking the meds.  The boxes are very helpful, though and I just finished loading mine up a little while ago.  Good luck with your treatment.

I was just taking the riba as i went along and even tho i just took them 5 min ago...i still would question my self...but with the boxes....if i got back and that specfic compartment is empty...i know i have taken it....trick is tho is dont refill till the box is empty....if you start refilling as you go...you will screw up....its not a bad system...i also have to stsrt taking the BOC pills in 2 weeks....4 pills 3 times a day along with the riba....16 a day...i have to have a system

I use two of those kind of pill boxes, so I always have a fully filled box... I have all my supplements in there too. Haven't missed one dose since starting tx. Then I have my alarms going off at all the different times i need to take what.

Fool Proof until you miss place it due to Brain Fog. I was furtunate because I kept extras in my truck. I found it when I got home.

Fool Proof.....I haven't yet found a system that I can't fail.  

But the simplier the better...the pill box from the dollar store has been the best thing so far.  

Just always refill on the same day.

I actually received a pill box with a kit my doc gave me.  It is a 14 section pill box and each section is marked:  Mon a.m., Mon p.m., Tues a.m., Tues p.m., etc.  I love this pill box!!

Are you in the BOC trial?....i too love those pill boxes...i guess its the idea of being organized   i love a place for everything and everything in its place...my boxes are in 4 sections...morning, noon , evening and bedtme...looks like a deck of cards....love it

I fill my pill box up every Sunday AM and there are so many I always say I am going into the bathroom to play Mancala, That kids game that they play with marbles. It makes the same sounds and always blows me away how many meds I am on. I call this my chemical year. I can't wait to go through detox and get all this stuff out of my system.

Use your diary  as a safety measure and don't think your system is foolproof.  Systems may be foolproof, but the mind on drugs isn't.  You wouldn't be the first to succumb to brain fog!   Your system is a great help and, again, best of luck with the trial.

Though perhaps being recovering alcoholic/addict has something to do with it ...the problem with us includes the tendency to take other people's pills as well ....

I think the problem is that after a few weeks, it becomes such a habit that you don't even think about it....then suddenly you realize you missed a dose.

Someone advised me to "concentrate on doing it, they try to remember that you concentrated on it".....made perfect sense at the time =)

your alarm goes off... go immediately to your pill box... hold the pills clenched in your hand (never lay them down anywhere) until you take them. From the beginning of when the alarm went off, don't cease humming 'my pills, my pills, my pills...' until you finally swallow them
