Poll working on tx-restart

Hi all. I am re-starting the poll as we need more choices and would like to keep track awhile and get an idea. Choices are (and any more ideas, feel free.)

A.)  Worked- not a problem.
B.)  Could not work at all (starting in 1st mth.)
C.)  Worked, suffered through.
D.)  Tried, had to quit (after 1st mth.)
E.)  Had to go to total part time.
F.)  Lost job due to tx.

Sound good? Please note physical/desk type and for those who don't mind....age :}

                                                   Thanks, LL

I didn't have to work. But I chose to. I would have gotten full salary either way - for a year or so anyway. But I was far from 100% - my job requires thinking and I wasn't so good at it on tx. I took off usually 1 day per week - so it was 4 on - 3 off. I was *very* anemic and could not have done physical work. Also -  I was in a lull and my job wasn't nearly as demanding as it could sometimes be,

Hi all....if you just posted today (26th)  ...please put on the 'Tally of poll' thread as I have counted off of this one and a previous one. This way my poor brain can just add/count off of new post/thread and not go thru these other 2. My fault...should have posted as 'new tally', etc.

                              Thanks all                                  LL

that is kind of you to say, r glass, but I never started with the intention of 'educating."  i was a musician with no other way to make a living and while i might have hated the job, i DID love music and so that carried me through many years as the kids naturally respond to beautiful sound,  no matter how elementary the level.

it was the OTHER stuff - you know, the politricks, the back-stabbing and in-fighting and the good-ole-gals-club -

And the people screaming loudest about 'the children, the children, the children' who always made sure they were the ones with the least kid-contact of all.  Made sure they didn't haveta get their hands dirty much less do a friggin' thing.

i came close to being 'arrested,' or at least reprimanded and brought up on charges, either by parents trying to 'milk' the system by claiming their kids had been 'unfairly' treated or by idiot novice i'm-gonna-save-the-world americorp  wasps, one of whom told a parent, when he said his big 14 year-old-in-a-5th-grade-class juvenile delinquent son said I pushed him, to press charges against me with the local PD.

Sorry . . . didn't mean to go off . . . .

I just can't WAIT to be finished TX.

You hang in there with your job and FWIW, you're not imagining any of this stuff.  the SX can be brutal.  Good thing you can escape to your office when everything starts disintegrating but still it would be a heck-of-a-lot-better if none of us had to go through this in the first place.

on the other hand, we're lucky there is a treatment available.

But somehow it's HARD to be grateful for meds that weaken us and drive us nuts!

I would like tell you I appreciate your 15+ years of dedication as an educator. This takes a special person. I wouldn’t make it one day without being arrested. What ever you decide in May, I believe your future looks bright. You seem to be a strong, compassionate, and well-educated person. You will succeed in what ever you choose.

I think the work issue also has a lot to do with whether or not you like/love what you do.

In my case, i HATED it, and anyone working in urban public schools, in the classroom,  who tells you otherwise after doing 15+ years is LYING!

I think that if I'd been doing something i was really passionate about or committed to, it might have had a different psychological effect but, on the other hand, I do have other interests which I've been completely incapable of pursuing since starting these meds.  Funny, coz one of the things i thought i WOULD be able to do is put in time on other projects.  no way.  yeah, I've had time but I've been too friggin weak to take advantage of it.

At this point, I've decided my only recourse is to put finishing TX first and see what happens once I'm through, in May.

I am only entering into week 4 and so far I haven’t missed a day so I guess I am a C. It hasn’t been easy and I have to force myself to go in everyday. I do feel that I am fortunate to have the type of job I have. I am a Construction Superintendent. My job requires me to work at my desk and go into the field. This works out well because, when I get tired I go to my field office and make phone calls, paper work and sometimes just lock the door and stare at the floor and sigh. When I get tired of this I go back out into the field. If I had to sit at a desk all day, I don’t think I would make it. I had off Saturday thru Tuesday and it was probably the worst 4 days I’ve had yet. I just laid in bed the entire 4 days miserable. So, maybe working is better for me. A little time will tell.
