Hi I am so very sorry for what you and your loved ones are going through. I think...if you post this question in the cirrhosis forum you could get more opinions. Take Care

Hello..can't express how sorry I am to hear about your husband. I'm not going to tell you all the popular cliches that might make you feel worse.
Hoping both your days are peaceful. So sorry O.
Blessings to you both
Deb
Your husband has hepatic encephalopathy, a side effect of his advanced cirrhosis. This is what is causing the mental confusion. Avoiding red meat may help, although it sounds like he isn't eating meat now anyway.
He should be taking lactulose or some other medicine to help deal with this.
He also should be seeing a very good hepatologist.
Only a doctor can give you an idea of how long he has and that would only be an educated guess. None of us have a crystal bowl showing the future.
If he really isn't able to get a transplant, then perhaps the doctor can prescribe something to help with his pain.
Be proactive !
Good luck.

I am so sorry to read about your hubby. No one can tell how long another person has to live. Your husband is very very ill and it doesn't sound as if he has much time at all. I am so sorry.
the pills and tablets are antibiotics (finished- they gave him only 5), waterpills and vitamins.
