Rash !!!!!

This is my second time tx first go around got a small rash on my leg over the counter cream took care of it....
THIS TIME oh my gosh I look like I have the chicken pox.. I have been to my dermatologyist and she has given me creams one for face and one for body and pills for the itching.
I am sure lots of others have had this... Will it last the whole time I tx or will go away like some of the other side effects.
I can't believe how much difference this treatment is from my last.
Any info ?

I had the rash on my face in between my eyebrows, my forehead and my nose and cheeks.  Unfortunately it stayed with me during both rounds of treatment for the entire time.

I practically had a solid raised rash from neck down.  I should have taken a picture.  Every place except my hands, feet, and face.  I think it started to calm after 4 months.  I only have very little now on my chest & upper back.  I itched also, used everything from A to Z.  Now, I only use Curel healing cream and Aveeno anti-itch cream on occasion.

oh my gawd the monster rash!!!!!!!!!!! i am still battling it, but took many suggestions from here and am doing better, i have to really keep up on it or else my life will get out of control with itching (know what I mean?) lol, I have been using cetaphil skin cleanser and it seems to be helping to take that crazy color and sting out of my legs and arms. I do not go out in sun without long sleeve shirts on, sunglasses, hats and try to keep the rash body parts unexposed, and oh yes drink drink drink (h2o of course) if it were not for this site, i would of been a basket case by now, and would of stopped treatment a few months ago, Thanks all!!!!!!!!!

I recommend going the prescription route. I like Gold Bond Extra Strength lotion, but still was scratching myself raw. I have had eczema on my hands for a long time, so I already had a prescription, Fluocinonide for that. My trial folks told me they could write me a prescription for the rash, but it would most likely be what I already have, and to go ahead and use it on the rash. It helped tremendously! I can relate to those underwear lines. I always break out there. And moisturize...heavily.  I also had to start using medicated shampoo (T Gel) because of my head itching so bad and the nasty dandruff that goes with it.

Well at times I've been accused of being a sales person for the stuff but for ME the best cure I found for the rash (which I had BAD and actually left parts of me scarred I scratched so much before I found it) was the Gold Bond Triple Anti Itch medicated lotion.

But I found if I used it once or twice a day the rash came back - had to really keep my skin thoroughly covered with it at all times. I guess it hydrated it somehow and for me it stopped it.

Later in treatment I developed an autoimmune rash that it couldn't touch. I tried everything including calamine...I looked like a freak here at work let me tell you. Finally I went to a derm and he gave me Fluticosane Lotion and that helps - I guess I have some form of eczema now.

But that's not the rash....the rash either abated in time or the repetetive putting on of the lotion got rid of it.  Still if you stop using the lotion it comes right back.

Anyway it helped me a lot. Also making sure my clothes were loose on the spots it got bad (Ie: underwear lines) helped quite a bit too.

Good luck.

I was on chantix to stop smoking before I started treatment. After the Riba/Int I would break out in rashes everytime I would take the chantix. (Yes back to smoking UGH) Maybe try taking different pills only one kind at a time and see if any of it effects you, makes you itch more/less etc..

TX *****!

Good luck

hey what other medication are you on during treatment?  by week 30 of treatment, i realized that i've become allergic to tylenol (which i wasn't before).  and developed psoriatic like rash over the body, which lasted for at least a week, took a while to fade.  get it checked to see if your rash is due to drug interactions or allergies..

Rash; I'll show you rash!  Just joking.  I'm 7 months in and now it's doing the arms and legs chicken pox thing you're describing.  It's usually caused by the riba; it's most famous side effect after lowering hgb.

In the dry winter months, I found running a humidifier very helpful.  It and lotions are less effective now that humidity is going up outside.  I did recently start with 1% hydrocortisone gel and it has been terrifically effective.  I use it on the worst spots (chest, hand, area on leg) and it started clearing it in just a couple days.  Mostly gone after a week.  I don't have the nerve to cover my whole body with it, but am applying it selectively to the itchiest chicken pocks.  Give it a try.

It may increase and decrease, but I doubt if it will go away until you're off the riba.
