In the dry winter months, I found running a humidifier very helpful. It and lotions are less effective now that humidity is going up outside. I did recently start with 1% hydrocortisone gel and it has been terrifically effective. I use it on the worst spots (chest, hand, area on leg) and it started clearing it in just a couple days. Mostly gone after a week. I don't have the nerve to cover my whole body with it, but am applying it selectively to the itchiest chicken pocks. Give it a try.
It may increase and decrease, but I doubt if it will go away until you're off the riba.
TX *****!
Good luck
But I found if I used it once or twice a day the rash came back - had to really keep my skin thoroughly covered with it at all times. I guess it hydrated it somehow and for me it stopped it.
Later in treatment I developed an autoimmune rash that it couldn't touch. I tried everything including calamine...I looked like a freak here at work let me tell you. Finally I went to a derm and he gave me Fluticosane Lotion and that helps - I guess I have some form of eczema now.
But that's not the rash....the rash either abated in time or the repetetive putting on of the lotion got rid of it. Still if you stop using the lotion it comes right back.
Anyway it helped me a lot. Also making sure my clothes were loose on the spots it got bad (Ie: underwear lines) helped quite a bit too.
Good luck.
