anybody else notice a drop in hgb a week

after stopping incivek?..mine dropped may have had nothing to do with my body adjusting to no incivek....i got a transfusion brought my hgb to 9.3....lowered my riba to 400 for maybe a week...increased procrit to 60000 per week from 40000 ....3 days ago was up 10 hgb...started 800 riba....now i can tell i'm at least 11....i think i may be almost 12...i'm suppose to do another riba shot on sat...thinking of only doing 20000....i know you can stroke above 12 hgb...so again i'm adjusting stuff after stopping the incivek...billy

like I said mine is in the 10 range and I feel great.  My body is getting use to it.  After being in the low 8's. I feel almost normal  so It really is hard to guess.  Something not to be ignored however   cant wait to get back to 15. I will be doing hoola-hoops!

my doctor is getting blood done twice a week....not this week though..only once..was 10!!...its up quite a bit i know it....i do feel really good...i think i do have a problem calling the doctor...its my problem from many years ago..as kids we didn't go to the doctor at all...never went to the doctor...as i got older i only went for broken bones or head injuries...my doctor even says "why don't you just call"..a real problem...billy

i had to stop my riba twice...once for 10 days and once for 4 days....most of the time i'm on 1200...never stopped the interferon or the incivek but did stop the incivek 5 days early...i did use to do lots of exercise and wore a heart rate monitor during exercise...i could keep my heart rate at155 for well over an hour...but never brought it passed 180...so maybe thats why i can feel my hgb so well...years and years of needing to feel my heart rate...and streamline..i too have a fear of raising my riba too high...but your most likely right i probably should raise the riba to 1000 now...i would like to stay on no more then 1000 from here on but we will see whats my doctor says..and linda are you sure stopping the incivek make your hgb rise right away?  i'm just wondering why mine tanked right after i stopped the incivek and now 2 weeks later is going up...could be less riba though raising my hgb..we'll see as i raise it....billy

I had the same thing happen.  I went to 12 and no one but me noticed.  I had to point it out to them so they stopped all of it and I crashed.  They should have reduced the days and the amount as I leveled out.  Why dont you call the doc and have your blood drawn and see what your hgb is  before you take the shot.  Or how long ago was your last cbc?  If it was this week and your hgb was in the 10 range, another shot probably wont make that big of a difference that quick.   delaying the procrit with your docs permission shouldnt hurt anything if you are feeling so good.  You would know for sure by tuesday if you had it drawn on Monday   try to get it drawn tomorrow.  yeah, your docs are hopefully doing cbc's on you weekly after all you been thru.   Good luck

Guess so, you got one helluva internal HGB gauge.  I went to 8.5 and never knew it.

Stopping the Incivek would help the hgb rise, not lower it. While on Incivek,  the incidence is hemolytic anemia is about 20% higher.  It's the ribavirin that you are reacting to.

Billy, once I stopped the incevik I felt 100 percent better, haven't had  another shot of procrit for two weeks, still waiting for my 12 week results so I don't know were I'm at right now, but I feel great. Even went to gym this week. Thanks. Joe

wouldn't it be better to raise the Riba 200mg and keep taking the procrit. I was thinking that the sides were from the Riba, but  now I'm thinking the sides maybe were from the anemia. I'm so afraid my hgb will be higher next month and he'll want to raise my Riba. I have this Riba fear after that one bad week I had, but maybe it was the anemia. What da ya think?

joe i started at 15 ....your not suppose to take procrit when your over 12..black box warning......my doc is 3 hours away and i hate to bug them...my point was i'm up on my hgb....joe ...i have to ask you am i the only one that can feel pretty close to what your hgb is??? and make sure you don't take procrit when above hgb 12....also...how are you feeling ? did you feel an adjustment time after you stopped the incivek??....good luck......billy

Billy, you said you could stroke out over twelve my doc told me before I started I was at 16. 4th week at 12.5, started procrit at 10.5. How could i be so high before treatment? Is someone wrong? Joe

Are you guessing your Hgb or actually having it tested prior to giving yourself more Procrit?  I sure hope your doc is keeping an eye on this rather than you guessing your level based on how you feel.
